This year has been very strenuous for Todd Chrisley, and things aren't getting any better. In June, the TV personality who was charged with tax evasion and bank fraud along with his wife, Julie Chrisley, were found guilty. While their sentencing date has been pushed back to November 21st, Chrisley is in yet another legal trouble.

The reality TV star, best known for his time on the reality show "Chrisley Knows Best," was recently sued for defamation. This case isn't the first time Chrisley has had legal drama with the plaintiff, Amy Doherty-Heinze. The former investigator was responsible for looking into the star's finances in the past.

According to Page Six, Heinze filed the lawsuit on Thursday, September 22nd. The document read that Chrisley "falsely and maliciously" accused the former investigator of suspicious activities during the previous investigation.

Heinze also claimed that the star brought up her name two times during an episode and accused her of breaking the law and being dishonest. He then noted that Heinze should be investigated and charged instead of him.

The document also read that the "Sharknado" star pushed for a "campaign" to get her company to fire her and slandered her name on several episodes of his podcast. This allegation comes after the ex-investigator sued him in 2021 for the same offense. While he was unrelenting, she decided to sue him again.

Heinze sued the "30-Rock: A One-Time Special" star in July 2021 for a similar offense per Page Six. At the time, she alleged that Chrisley called her out on his podcast and social media pages several times. He also accused her of "a multitude of crimes and wrongdoing" while she was in charge of investigating his finances in 2017.

While the case is still processing, she hit the star with another lawsuit this year as he reportedly refused to retract the claims and apologize. The legal battle marks the second one Chrisley is dealing with in 2022 after being found guilty of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and tax fraud earlier in June.

Following this, the court jointly found the couple guilty of conspiring to defraud the US and conspiracy to commit tax evasion and bank fraud. The court additionally found the mother of three guilty of obstruction of justice and wire fraud.

While the couple awaits the sentence, which could put them behind bars for three decades, they have asked their fans to put them in prayers.
