TV personality Todd Chrisley has shared his thoughts on why his daughter Savannah Chrisley's relationship with ex-fiancé Nic Kerdiles went sour.
The reality star's daughter and her former lover were together for three years before they broke up their engagement in May 2020 ahead of their wedding, which was slated for the same month. The pair kept on dating but later ended their relationship in September 2020.
In a chat on the "Chrisley Confessions" podcast, Chrisley gave his opinion on why the relationship did not work. The actor said that the couple's manner of meeting and failure to vet themselves before the start of the relationship were factors in their split.

Todd Chrisley Opens Up About His Daughter's Failed Relationship
Speaking on the latest episode of "Chrisley Confessions" podcast, the star of "Chrisley Knows Best" opened up about his daughter's split from her then fiancé Kerdiles. Without mincing words, he blamed how they met as one of the reasons for the separation.
He shared, per People: "I said, 'Y'all met on social media. You had a blue checkmark, he had a blue checkmark. He was an athlete, you're on television,'" the Chrisley Knows Best star recounted. "'Y'all put all your faith in that blue check mark because that meant both of you were verified, which meant there was no falsity going on. There was no one impersonating you. This was a verified account.'"
"And I said, 'Had you put as much faith in the word [of the Bible] and in God as you did that blue checkmark,' I said, 'Things may have ended differently,'" he added.
Todd Chrisley Says 'If It Starts Out Messy, It'll End With Messy'
The reality star further explained that the pair's verification status made them assume that they were compatible, a notion which he confirmed from his daughter.
He disclosed: "I said, 'When y'all two verified that y'all were legitimate on social media, where was the verification that you were both children of God and that you were supposed to be together? Where's that verification?'" he continued. "I said, 'You don't have it.' So what starts uneven will end uneven. What starts out as cracked will end up shattered. And I said, 'If it starts out messy, it'll end with messy.'"
As regards who was to take the blame for the split, Chrisley opined that both parties had the fault and revealed that he admonished his daughter to take "ownership in how" her relationship ended.
Savannah Chrisley And Nic Kerdiles' Split
Savannah, 25, and Kerdiles, 28, were together for over three years and were engaged for two. The pair were set to marry in May 2020 but broke off their engagement before the date. Rather than part ways, they continued to date, and it seemed that the broken engagement was done in favor of them waiting longer.
However, in September of the same year, the actress took to Instagram to officially end the relationship while claiming that there was no hatred between her and the ice hockey player.
"Nic and I have decided to call it quits," Savannah shared in a post on the social media platform per People. "There's no hatred between the two of us...and in all honesty...that makes saying goodbye even harder. We have nothing but love, respect, and admiration for one another, but it's time for us to move forward individually."
Savannah Chrisley Explained The Breakup
Two months after ending her relationship with Kerdiles, Savannah opened up to People about her views on why her relationship ended.
She confessed, "It's just we're both on different pages right now, and we weren't connecting. I don't ever believe that you should have to change who you are, what you want out of life to be with someone. And that goes for him as well."
The actress said that they "were [not] capable of giving the other what they needed at the time" before adding that realizing their incapacities gave her the courage to take that step back. She also hinted at the possibility of a future reunion if fate so permits.
"If we end up back together, that was what was meant to be," Savannah said. "And if we don't, then there's going to be other people that come into our lives."
Savannah and her entire family were in for a rude awakening recently when her parents Todd and Julie Chrisley were found guilty of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, tax fraud and other crimes.
The embattled couple recently celebrated a little win when their sentencing date got pushed back after a claim was made that a witness lied on the stand. The new date for their sentencing is November 21st and Chrisley is quite certain that "God is working overtime" to save him and his wife.
