TLC is just two episodes into season four of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, but fans already have a problem with one of the key players. In fact, people are boycotting this cast member’s segments. Podcasts that cover the show are not talking about this person’s storyline at all.
So, who are viewers boycotting, and what did they do to garner such hostility from viewers who have really seen it all? There’s actually quite a bit to the story.
The cast member is Geoffrey Paschel. On the show, Geoffrey has been falling for Varya, a radio show host from Russia. There may be more than meets the eye, as Geoffrey has a very storied past that viewers may not be aware of.
So far, viewers have seen glimpses of Geoffrey talking to his sons about Varya, discussing the devastating loss of a child, and talking about a divorce. Fans of the show are actually more concerned about what TLC is not showing us.
Geoffrey’s criminal history emerged before the first episode of the season even aired. Apparently, documents show that Geoffrey was accused of domestic violence in 2019. His girlfriend at the time accused Geoofrey of domestic assault, vandalism, aggravated kidnapping, and interfering with emergency phone calls.
Now, Geoffrey has not been convicted of these charges as of this moment, but many people feel weird cheering on Geoffrey’s love story. A lot of 90 Day fans are not thrilled that TLC would even choose to hire somebody who is facing such charges.
In a court filing from one of Geoffrey’s ex-wives, more is revealed. The documents reveal alleged physical abuse against her and their children. The document also makes allegations of threats made against her family. She had an order of protection placed against Geoffrey after claims that he pushed her and their son to the ground and then began choking her. She also claimed Geoffrey pulled weapons out to threaten her with. These are serious allegations, and they paint an eerie picture of the man viewers see on television.
On Before the 90 Days, Geoffrey is portrayed as a heartbroken man who recently lost his very young son. His loss is certainly tragic.
Geoffrey is also painted as somebody who is a hopeful romantic looking for love. This dichotomy doesn’t speak to fans who know about the allegations against him.
Some fans of the show are not only skipping Geoffrey’s segments, but they are even skipping the entire season. Some have even started up a petition to get Geoffrey kicked off the show.
