Taylor Swift's 'Swifties' fan base may have to 'shake it off' when it comes to the disappointment of realizing the 32-year-old may not be performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show after all.

The rumor mill began buzzing earlier today when, according to Variety, three sources allegedly close to the "Right Where You Left Me" singer confirmed she would be the guest of honor during the halftime show.

Clues that Swift could've been the performer for the show seemed to line up perfectly.

According to the publication, the NFL announced at midnight this morning that Apple Music would be the sponsor of the show. Midnight, of course, is a pretty special time of night for Swift's fanbase; in case you've missed it, Swift's new album, available on October 21st, will contain songs she had specifically written during the early hours of the morning.

Swifties may remember their girl has had a notable relationship with Apple Music in the past.

Back in 2015, Swift declined to allow her then-newest album "1989" to be available for its users to stream on the platform, due to the fact the platform had decided not to compensate artists for streams during a three-month free trial period. Shortly afterward the platform reversed its decision. (via Stereogum)

With all of Swift's love for staying awake late at night lately, it would make a great amount of sense if Swifties were to dig a little deeper and get to the bottom of the possibility of Swift headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Variety goes on to detail in their report not only had Swifties allegedly begun to theorize about a potential connection between "Midnights" and the time of night at which the NFL made their announcement pertaining to the Apple Music sponsorship, but the nitty-gritty specific details about past sponsorships of the Super Bowl Halftime Show also made it under their metaphorical magnifying glasses.

The outlet also reported Pepsi had decided not to "renew their ten-year-long sponsorship of the Halftime Show this year."

Sources say "Taylor will do a Super Bowl Halftime Show at some point in her career but it would be way too soon to do it this year. She could easily put something together but when she eventually does it, she wants it to surround an announcement of a new album or a new tour. All that is coming anyways, so we will see Taylor do Halftime someday but most likely in a few years."

Despite the fact Swifties may not get to see their dream of witnessing Swift perform at the major sporting event of the year just yet, they have plenty of excitement to partake in pertaining to Swift's upcoming new record.

Swift is in the midst of slowly rolling out song titles from "Midnights" on her TikTok account in a new series she calls "Midnights Mayhem With Me!"
