Grimes Confirms that Elon Musk is the Father of Her Baby

Since announcing her pregnancy back in January, Grimes has been relatively hush hush about who the father of her baby is. While many speculated that the father is Elon Musk, being that he was the last person she was romantically linked with, both Grimes and Musk had yet to confirm the speculation. That is, until now. During a digital feature with "Rolling Stone", Grimes confirmed that the tech mogul and Tesla inventor is indeed the father of her unborn child.

While the coming baby will be Grimes' first child, Musk will now be a father of six as this child will be joining his five sons from a previous marriage. In the "Rolling Stone" feature, Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, showed off her baby bump as she posed for some unique and artsy photos. She also revealed that her song "So I Fell Through The Earth" is about getting pregnant and explaining, "the sort of tragedy of agreeing to it, even though it’s this great thing."

"For a girl, it’s sacrificing your body and your freedom. It’s a pretty crazy sacrifice and only half of the population has to do it,” she added. “It was really profound to me when I decided I was going to do it, to actually go through the act of unprotected sex."

Grimes also described the moment that she made the decision to move forward with her pregnancy as a sort of "leap". "I’m just like, I have sacrificed my power in this moment. I have, like, capitulated," she stated.

"And I have spent my whole life avoiding that situation,” she continued. “I have never capitulated to anything, so it was just a profound commitment."

Grimes also shared some sweet words about Musk, saying, "I do actually just really love my boyfriend...So I was like, ‘You know, sure.’" While the love between Musk and Grimes appears to be going strong, she also opened up about the experience of dating a high profile man such as Musk, and the effect that it has had on her.

"No one believes me about this,” she started, “but I just did not understand what I was getting into at all. Not that I’m mad about it. I just didn’t think it would be a thing. The s--t that’s happened with my boyfriend this year has overwritten so much of my life’s work."

In regards to her and Musk's coming baby, Grimes said, "I think my kid will be nocturnal...Currently it is! It doesn’t move during the day, only at night."
