Nicola Peltz Spills On Drama With Mother-In-Law Victoria Beckham
In a joint interview with Grazia USA, Peltz noted that she was eager to rock the English fashion designer's dress for her wedding. She explained that she was extremely excited that she would be wearing a dress made by her mother-in-law.
After trying to reach her for a while, Peltz revealed that Victoria finally got back to her with the sad news that she wouldn't be making her wedding dress anymore. She said she was "truly excited to be able to wear a design that my future mother-in-law created."
Peltz also revealed that it meant a lot to her and said, "I thought that was so beautiful and such a beautiful story." She explained that Victoria's cancellation of their dress plans scattered her plans for the wedding and forced her to go for a second option.
Nicola Peltz Said She Was Hurt
During the interview, the 27-year-old recalled connecting with Victoria after her engagement to create a design for the wedding dress. However, their plans fell through when the former Spice Girl stopped talking about the dress and went radio silent.
Peltz said her mother-in-law later revealed that she couldn't make the dress during a call between Victoria and Peltz's mom, Claudia Peltz. Her mom then informed Peltz and her personal stylist, Leslie Fermar. She said they were all upset as they were already getting set to assist Victoria with designing the dress.
Peltz said, "We connected to start designing the dress, and then a few days went by, and I didn't hear anything. Victoria called my mom and said her atelier couldn't make it. The billionaire heiress said the news made her furious and that Brooklyn supported her throughout the disagreement.
Brooklyn Beckham Says His Wife Is His Priority
The chef and son of ex-footballer David Beckham supported Peltz during the interview and noted that she was his first "priority." He also revealed that they talked things through and tried to find a solution. He said, "To be honest, my wife is obviously my first priority and I never want to see her upset ever."
Brooklyn also noted that they always "have each other's back" and "move on together." After revealing what happened, Peltz said she tried to set things straight for doubters and insisted that she originally planned on "wearing Victoria's wedding dress."
Valentino Was Nicola Peltz's Second Option
After her mother-in-law explained that she couldn't make the dress, Peltz and her family tried to think of a second option. She said, "I spoke to my mom and Leslie, and I was like, …so what's the next step?"
After brainstorming, she decided to give Valentino a chance to make her dress. She also noted that she loved their designs and had been a fan of the brand for a while. After they completed the dress, the actress had to "travel" to the atelier to try it on.
Describing how she felt about the disappointment, Peltz noted that her husband's parents were "great in-laws," and said she liked being a part of the family. However, when Victoria bailed on her, it "hurt her feelings."
The actress also called out reports that she was lying about the issue and "never planned" for her mother-in-law to design her dress. While she tried to block out the negative comments, accepting that people didn't believe her was difficult. "It's just a bit of a bummer," she said.
