The “Bachelorette: After the Finale Rose” episode left viewers in shock. Rachel Recchia and Tino Franco got engaged, but around the time that the "Bachelorette" season premiered, the two were going through a rocky patch. Ultimately, we come to find out that Tino cheated on Rachel as he claimed he was under the impression they were on a break, leaving Rachel confused and heartbroken.
Trying to get the answers she felt she deserved, Rachel met up with Tino at a secret location prior to "After the Final Rose", where he admitted to cheating on her. “I messed up. I kissed another girl, but the second I did, I knew I belonged with you. And this was the tiniest thing ever, so I just tried to…"
After needing multiple breaks and walking away from Rachel on various occasions during the talk, Rachel felt as though he was not taking ownership or giving an actual apology, and ultimately, made the decision to give the ring back.
During the “Bachelorette” live finale, Tino came out on stage to talk with Rachel, but things did not go well. After the nation watched the awkward conversation between Rachel and Tino, host Jesse Palmer shocked Rachel, and the viewers, when he said someone was there who “demanded” to talk to Rachel.
Aven, Rachel’s runner-up, walked out on stage as everyone cheered. He asked, “I was just wondering if you want to get out of here and just catch up?” To which, Rachel replied with, "I would love nothing more."
What Did Aven and Rachel Talk About Backstage?
Once Rachel and Aven walked off stage together, many hoped that Rachel finally found her knight in shining armor. The cameras caught the two chatting backstage, hugging one another, but the microphones were off so no one could hear what they were saying. Now, the 26-year-old flight attendant is revealing some of that conversation.
When on "Live With Kelly and Ryan," she spoke about Aven saying, "“Right now, we are going to see where things go."
“We went outside to talk without the microphones on,” Rachel told Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest. “He wanted to support me through this hard time. He has been so incredible.”
Rachel admitted during her hometown date that Aven has been her "go-to" guy whenever she needed support. When speaking to E! News about Aven appearing on the finale, the 26-year-old said, "I was just really curious. He ultimately just told me he wanted to be there as a support system because he knew it was really going to be a really difficult conversation. He's always been kind of my safe space."
Is There a Future For Aven and Rachel?
Ryan Seacrest came with the hard-hitting questions that everyone has been wondering, “Did you go on a romantic date?” Rachel replied with, “We didn’t, but maybe we will,” leaving fans hopeful that there could be a future for the two.
This is something Rachel echoed when speaking to E! News as well. "Who knows where it's going to go?," Rachel said when speaking about her future with Aven. She did admit that the door is open, so Bachelor Nation will just have to wait and see!
