Actress Olivia Wilde has come candid about co-parenting with "Ted Lasso" star Jason Sudeikis.

The pair began dating in 2011 but called off their relationship in 2022. During their time together, they shared two kids, son Otis, 8, and daughter Daisy, 5, whom they have been co-parenting since their split.

Ahead of the official debut of her new film "Don't Worry Darling," Wilde shared that co-parenting with her ex was "tough" but has allowed her to see her kids in a new light.

The actress is currently in a new relationship with singer Harry Styles, who also stars in her film. Wilde recently denied rumors that her romance with Styles was the reason for her separation from Sudeikis.

"It's tough," Wilde said on the daytime show. "I think reshaping a family is tricky."

Wilde's comment seemed to imply the messy custody battle she has been embroiled in with her ex-partner. Although the pair seemed to be peacefully co-parenting their kids in the aftermath of their split in 2020, all that took a rough turn after the comedian cum producer served Wilde custody papers earlier in the year.

At the time, the actress described Sudeikis's move as distasteful, adding that his actions negatively impacted their kids.

"For me, it was appalling, but the victims were an 8- and 5-year-old, and that's really sad," she explained, per Today. "I chose to become an actress; I willingly walked into the spotlight. But it's not something my children have asked for. And when my kids are dragged into it, it's deeply painful."

"The one benefit is it's allowed for some really deep conversation with my kids about emotions, about happiness and about what family means, and love," she disclosed. "It's actually allowed me to get to know them in a different way. My priority is them, like, that's what it is. As long as they're happy and they're healthy then, you know, my ex and I, we agree [that] they are everything to us."

The actress went on to say that she is unbothered about her kids one-day having siblings from a different father. She added, "There are so many families who are blended and in different shapes. If you can surround kids with so much love, then it's OK.

"The complete horses—t idea that I left Jason for Harry is completely inaccurate," she said in an interview with Vanity Fair. "Our relationship was over long before I met Harry."

"Like any relationship that ends, it doesn't end overnight," she continued. "Unfortunately, Jason and I had a very bumpy road, and we dissolved the relationship towards the beginning of the pandemic."

In the meantime, the actress has been promoting her new film "Don't Worry Darling," which premiered at the Venice Film Festival on Monday. The film is set to be released in theaters on September 23 and is headlined by Styles and "Black Widow" actress Florence Pugh.
