Elizabeth Chambers Refused To Participate In The Documentary
“I did not plan on seeing it, but I did drop the kids off at school one day and came home and watched it with my support system around me,” she told about the Discovery+ docuseries that premiered the beginning of September.
“It was obviously heartbreaking on so many levels and very painful. But at the same time, it exists. The past is the past and all we can do is take this as a moment to learn and listen and hopefully process and heal in every capacity,” she admits.
Just when she thought she knew it all, the show opened her eyes to a few more revelations. She was “definitely surprised” by some of the bombshells.
A Lot Of The Doc Didn’t Feel Great For Elizabeth Chambers To Watch
“There were definitely some surprises, and it didn’t feel great, especially when you feel like you have done that work, but the moral of the story is that work is never done.” Chambers shared that she has been getting the help she needs to be the strongest she can be for her children during all this drama and the divorce.
She has kept her children ages 5 and 7 away from the doc and any news surrounding it. Pointing out, “It’s not appropriate for them at this time.”
Chamber considers herself a feminist and does not blame the women in this scenario. “I consider myself a feminist and stand in solidarity with anyone who has been a victim of any sort and hope they find healing.”
Elizabeth Chamber’s Life Has Been Hell
She admits that things are rough but they have been rougher so she is somewhat grateful. “I’m not being here, like, ‘My life is amazing,’ because it’s been hell for a long time.” She doesn’t hold it against Hammer though, she shares that they are co-parenting well.
They are currently “in a really great place” and “together as much as possible in a non-romantic way for our kids.”
The documentary emphasized how important the male children are to the Hammer family, Hammer’s aunt detailed in the doc that she was expendable but the boys were treated like royalty. The couple shares a son named Ford.
Elizabeth Chambers Is Focused On Healing
“Time does heal, but time alone doesn’t heal. You need to work through it,” she believes. Now she is more aware of boundaries and how they play a role in her new relationship with Hammer.
“People are flawed. People make horrible mistakes. People change, by the way. For me the whole time it has been about, ‘These are my boundaries. If you can meet them, then we can take the next step.’ That’s with everyone in my life, but also with myself.”
As for Hammer, he is “focused on his healing” and for Chambers, “all that matters is that he is the best dad for our children.”
