As an artist of many talents, Nicole Scherzinger has gained quite the recognition, selling over sixteen million records as a solo artist and earning nominations for the highly coveted Grammy.
She is now garnering more attention after being credited as the mastermind behind the formation of the successful boy band One Direction during her days as a judge on the television talent show “The X Factor UK.”
Nicole Scherzinger Brings One Direction To Life In New Unseen Video
According to Pop!, “The X Factor UK” recently honored the English-Irish boy group’s twelfth anniversary by releasing a new video of how the band was formed. It should be noted that the clip had never been watched before.
As fans may recall, the five members of One Direction — Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson — met as contestants on the seventh season of the UK show in 2010. They were all solo participants then and were not so lucky when they got rejected from the program’s Bootcamp.
However, their luck improved after the judges thoroughly reviewed the contestants and handpicked the five males to form a band. They were allowed to remain part of the contest as a group and eventually became known as One Direction.
Afterward, they gained significant recognition as one of the most successful bands, “The X Factor UK” produced and became best-sellers in no time, topping charts. This year marks their twelfth year of fame, and while they are no longer active, their legacy still lives on.
Celebrating the milestone, the throwback video released by the talent show revealed the discussions among the past judges, Scherzinger, Simoon Cowell, and Louis Walsh, that led up to forming the group.
The Pussycats Dolls’ lead singer could be seen taking the boys’ photos and lining them up to show the other judges her thoughts of merging them as a group. She said, “They’re the cutest boy band ever. I love it. The little girls are gonna love them. I think they’ll be really great in a boy band together.”
Scherzinger was acknowledged for bringing her idea to life as she believed in the singers’ abilities and never gave up on them. Too bad the band split in 2016; it has been five years since they performed together.
Nevertheless, each member is flourishing in their careers, with Styles recently earning a Grammy Award, Tomlinson on a solo world tour, and Payne and Malik keeping busy with their thriving careers.
It is no news that fellow judge Cowell was believed to be responsible for putting the boys together to form a band over the years, but with the new footage, Scherzinger got much-deserved recognition.
In Metro‘s report, the video was released after a former member, Payne, claimed to be the first member of 1D, believing that the judges began with his face and “worked around the rest.” However, the new clip proved otherwise.
Meanwhile, during a recent appearance on Sherri Shepherd‘s show, Scherzinger joked that she thought Cowell would never let the video go public as she assumed he had burned it. She further expressed her happiness in playing a part after admitting that it was “really cool” the footage was released as people now see her as the one behind One Direction.
The Former “DWTS” Winner Has No Beef With Pussycat Dolls’ Members Despite Past Accusations

Earlier this month, The Blast reported that Scherzinger and fellow Pussycat Dolls member Kimberly Wyatt seemed to be on good terms following several accusations thrown at the “Moana” actress.
It was also revealed that the group creator Robin Attin accused her not long ago of threatening to withdraw from the band’s reunion unless she was granted a majority share.
In addition, she allegedly wanted to get “complete creative control” and “final decision-making authority.” Scherzinger previously denied the claims; however, Attin still sued her, leading to counter lawsuits from the 44-year-old.
Unfortunately, the legal issue stopped plans for the girls’ reunion, but Wyatt revealed in an interview with Closer that they were all on good terms despite how “desperate” they all were for a get-together.
She said, “There’s no feud with Nicole – I’m friends with all the girls, and I hold everyone in a wonderful space. I think women supporting women is so incredibly important. I really thought we were going to stand for that.”
