Tiffany Haddishand Aries Spears are no longer being charged with child molestation. The Jane Doe in the case has spoken out.
Jane Doe Filed To Dismiss The Case
Jane Doe has allegedly filed to dismiss the case for good according to documents obtained by TMZ. The judge dismissed the case with prejudice this week. This means that Jane Doe can not turn around and refile a case against Haddish and Spears.
The women involved issued a statement after the paperwork was filed. “My family and I have known Tiffany Haddish for many years – and we now know that she would never harm me or my brother,” she admits.
Nor would she “help anyone else do anything that could harm us. We wish Tiffany the best and are glad that we can all put this behind us.”
Jane Doe And Her Mom Filed The Case
The case involved both comedians, Jane Doe simultaneously accused them of “grooming” and “molesting” she and her brother while on the set for a skit that was being filmed several years ago. She claimed that at the time she didn't realize how inappropriate the skits they filmed were.
Jane Doe also pointed out that the scenes were meant to sexualize the minors at the time. She included specifically that Haddish made her films scenes that simulated oral sex with food. She went on to claim her brother’s abuse was similar to hers. He appeared in a skit that was meant to be a pedophile’s fantasy.
Initially, Haddish and Spears brushed off the accusations and even went as far as to comment through attorneys that they were being extorted in a sense.
Tiffany Haddish Backtracked Her Comments
The comedian later came out and gave a more profound statement regarding the confusing accusations.
“I know people have a bunch of questions. I get it. I’m right there with you. Unfortunately, because there is an ongoing legal case, there’s very little that I can say right now.”
She also expressed regret for being involved in a skit that toed the line.
“Clearly, while this sketch was intended to be comedic, it wasn't funny at all – and I deeply regret having agreed to act in it. I really look forward to being able to share a lot more about this situation as soon as I can.”
Tiffany Haddish’s Lawyer Had Harsh Words Jane Doe & Her Family
Andrew Brettler spoke with TMZ when the news initially broke. He didn't have anything positive to say about the situation or Jane Doe’s mom. He essentially made it seem as though her mother was spearheading a hate campaign against the comedians.
“Every attorney who has initially taken on her case -- and there were several -- ultimately dropped the matter once it became clear that the claims were meritless and Ms. Haddish would not be shaken down. Now, Ms. Morris has her adult daughter representing herself in this lawsuit. The two of them will together face the consequences of pursuing this frivolous action.”
Now that the case has been dismissed, Haddish can go back to focusing on work. Spears moved on a long time ago to the bullying incident with singer Lizzo.
Did you notice he wasn’t mentioned anywhere in that statement that Jane Doe released this week?
