Kim Kardashian Attacked By Fans Over Braids In Throwback Photo... Again

Kim Kardashian received harsh backlash from fans after sharing some photos from a past photoshoot where she had her hair in braids.

The "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star has been criticized in the past for cultural appropriation for rocking the hairstyle but has responded by explaining that she did it because of her 6-year-old daughter, North West. Despite past backlash from fans, Kim proudly shared the picture from her old photoshoot.

"Flash Back to my shoot with Vanessa Beecroft," Kardashian captioned her throwback pics.

Interestingly enough, Kim, North, and her niece Penelope are currently sporting the hairstyle while in Paris for Fashion Week.

Listen, you can't please everyone but a surprising number of her followers sounded off in the comments about how her braids bother them.

"plz not the braids jesus christ," one follower begged, while another said, "not them braids sis."

Some fans went as far claiming that she knows her hairstyle will get a big reaction and said her motive was to get people talking.

"At this point she doin it all for attention like she know this gon make ppl mad ??‍♀️??‍♀️," a fan speculated.

"Can we just stop with the cornrows and baby hairs. Please!" another follower exclaimed. Another joked that she waited until Black History Month was over. "she said black history month is over, here’s the braids. i-."

In the past, Kim responded to people slamming her for wearing the culturally charged hairstyle by explaining that North expressed an interest in wearing braids and that she wanted mommy to match.

"I actually did that look because North said she wanted braids and asked if I would do them with her. So we braided her hair and then we braided my hair," Kardashian told Bustle in 2018.

Kim did understand the backlash when she wore blonde braids and credited Bo Derek for the look.

"I [do] remember the backlash when I had the blonde hair and that I called them 'Bo Derek braids.' But I obviously know they're called fulani braids and I know the origin of where they came from and I'm totally respectful of that. I'm not tone deaf to where I don't get it. I do get it," she continued.

"Maybe if I had come out and explained that from the beginning instead of calling them 'Bo Derek braids,' then it wouldn't have gotten such backlash. But in no way am I ever trying to disrespect anyone's culture by wearing braids. If anything, my daughter was so excited to see me get matching braids with her. [When] we did her hair in these braids, she was so excited."

While Kim has not addressed the recent batch of displeasure over her hair, some fans stood up for the mom.

"it's a hairstyle get over it. We all came out of Africa in the beginning anyway ?," a follower wrote.

Another fan said, "I'm black and never cared about her wearing braids, black people be out here wearing blonde hair and white people never say nothing."

Wherever you stand on the hairy situation, it is cool that she is willing to put up with the haters to make her daughter happy.
