Bachelor Nation has been waiting anxiously to find out who would star on the upcoming season of 'The Bachelorette.' 'Good Morning America' announced that the franchise went back in the archives to select Clare Crowley. Initially many fans believed that Hannah Brown would reprise her role as 'The Bachelorette' in back to back seasons and was reportedly the top choice. While she wasn't opposed, she wasn't ultimately offered enough money and passed for the opportunity to extend her tour dates with 'Dancing With the Stars.'

Clare was just as shocked as fans were when she was announced as 'The Bachelorette.'

“I literally just found out. So unexpected, can you believe this? Six years later? What is happening?” Clare said on 'GMA' according to Perez Hilton.

Unlike younger contestants of the past, the 38-year-old knows exactly what she wants.

“I want a man that will take off his armor. I want a man that is strong but is willing to take off the body armor, open themselves up and be vulnerable. I think that is some serious strength right there,” she explained.

“The biggest thing for me is, honestly, it’s all what’s on the inside for me. The outside, if you line up all the guys I’ve dated in the past, there’s no one type physically. It’s more if they go out of their way for me, if they make me feel special. This is about me now. I’m ready for it,” she continued on her dream man.

Clare initially competed on 'The Bachelor' 6 years ago to win Juan Pablo's heart.

She made it to the final two before realizing Juan Pablo was not the man for her. Like Andi Dorfman, Clare told him off. Clare has also competed on 'Bachelor in Paradise' and 'Bachelor Winter Games' where she met brief fiance Benoit Beauséjour-Savard.

Clare expressed that she's not concerned about her age: “I feel like a lot of people put it out there as this negative thing. For me, it’s just more years under my belt. More years learning and knowing what I want and what I won’t settle for.”

Many of the fans were pushing for a throwback 'Bachelorette' since many of the women on the current season of 'The Bachelor' were not given favorable edits. Many of the contestants were viewed as immature so when Clare has announced, fans were relieved that the franchise would be bringing on someone with more life experience as 'The Bachelorette.' While none of this season's young contestants will be 'The Bachelorette,' some will likely return for the summer special 'Bachelor in Paradise.'
