Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Have Both Been Married Before: Everything You Need to Know

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have been together on and off for a few years. They first got together back in 2016. They kept their relationship quiet for several months before announcing that they were officially together in the spring of that year.

They broke things off for a bit in 2017 but continued to hang out, sparking rumors that they had gotten back together. In the spring of 2018, they confirmed they were back together.

And on Valentine's Day 2019, the couple announced they were engaged! Their wedding is just around the corner, but this isn't the first time down the aisle for either of them. Here's everything you need to know.

In 2010 Katy Perry married comedian and actor Russell Brand. Perry was in her mid-twenties when they married, very young and very in love. Unfortunately for both of them, their marriage wasn't a happy one. The two quickly found that they enjoyed very different lifestyles and wanted different things from their lives.

Apparently, Brand asked Perry for a divorce via text message, so to say things ended badly is an understatement. The two divorced in 2012 after being married for less than two years.

Orlando Bloom started dating Victoria Secret model Miranda Kerr in 2007, but they kept it private and didn't confirm their relationship until 2008. The couple remained very private about their relationship even after confirming it.

In 2010 they announced they were engaged and a month later announced that they were married in a hush-hush ceremony. A few months later, Kerr revealed that she was pregnant with their first child. Their son Flynn was born in 2011.

The couple announced their split in 2013. They spoke fondly of each other and declined to share more information about their split, which makes sense given how private they'd been about their whole relationship.

When Bloom and Kerr divorced, they both made it clear that co-parenting their son Flynn was their priority. The two wanted to keep a friendly relationship so they could still raise Flynn together, and they've actually succeeded. The two often celebrate holidays together, and they're both very involved in Flynn's and each others' lives.

Kerr even hangs out with Perry! When Kerr launched her new skincare line, Perry went to the launch party to support her. Kerr also loves Perry's relationship with Flynn. She says “get along really well.”

With the wedding right around the corner, Bloom and Perry are in the deep end when it comes to wedding planning. But apparently they're not stressing.

In a recent interview, Perry said, "I call myself a 'bridechilla' as opposed to a bridezilla. Orlando and I are united with our approach. It’s not about the party, it’s about the coming together of people who will hold us accountable when things get really hard. Because it’s really great and then it’s really hard. Those are just the facts when you’re with someone who challenges you to be your best self."
