Sofia Vergara Shares 'XXXX' Pic After Being Announced as 'AGT' Judge

Sofia Vergara is trading one dysfunctional family for another as she ends her run on "Modern Family" to join up with the ongoing drama of "America's Got Talent." The 47-year-old star was announced as the new judge on the 15th season of "AGT" following the firings of Julianne Hough and Gabrielle Union.

"There’s a new judge joining the #AGT FAMILY! Introducing @simoncowell, @howiemandel, @heidiklum, AND @sofiavergara as the Season 15 Judging Panel, with @terrycrews as your host!" the show announced via Instagram.

Shortly after "AGT" dropped the big news, Sofia Vergara revealed the new stage, which featured her name among the other judges atop the row of X's. The "Modern Family" star has also been given a pretty good position, as her name is displayed right after Simon Cowell, and before co-judges Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel.

Vergara is extremely excited to be apart of the talent show, and told Variety in a statement:

"I’m so happy to join my new family on ‘AGT. This is a new and exciting next chapter for me and I’m extremely proud to be the first Latin judge on the show. I can’t wait to watch all the talent and have fun with all you guys!"

With Sofia Vergara joining the "AGT" judging stable, the other judges were excited to be working alongside the "Modern Family" star.

Howie Mandel wrote about Vergara joining the team, and gave her fair warning about his phobia with germs:

"Hi. Look. @SofiaVergara is joing me at the @agt judge’s desk and my bestie @heidiklum is BACK for season 15! Sofia, please don’t try to shake my hand. Fist bumps only."

Heidi Klum was equally excited, not only about being back herself, but by working alongside Vergara.

"The fact that Sofia Vergara is joining us is the icing on an already delicious cake," the German supermodel told Variety.

Vergara is yet to comment on the elephant in the room ... the drama surrounding Gabrielle Union's exit and her accusation of insensitivity towards women of color on the show. Among her claims, Union claimed her hairstyles were constantly an issue, and she also complained about Simon Cowell's excessive cigarette smoking while indoors.

Regardless of the issues, fans are excited for Sofia Vergara to join the show.

"I can't wait to see sofia as a judge this summer, It's going to be a great season this year," one fan wrote on Twitter.
