Shannen Doherty Is Changing Her Eating Habits While Battling Stage 4 Cancer

After revealing earlier this month that she is battling stage 4 cancer, Shannen Doherty is now opening up about some changes she's making in her life. In a new Instagram post, the "Beverly Hills 90210" actress talked about trying to motivate herself to eat healthier.

"So I’m trying to get motivated again, part of that is eating healthy but I like food that taste yummy," she wrote. "Enter [Chef Oren] who spent a day with myself and [Anne Marie] cooking and teaching me recipes that are delicious, healthy and super easy to make. Plus, he gave me his [RAD USA] pan which I already love. A couple weeks ago, she shared a post that showed her riding a horse.

"I want to thank all of you for your love, prayers and support," she captioned the photo. "It’s an odd time right now and I find my feet not completely underneath me. To say I have stress is an understatement. To say that I’m struggling is mild. But... I believe that I will find my footing. I’ll dig deep for the inner strength I need to face it all. I pray I do it all with dignity and grace. I have so much to say. So much to share. I will. For now... please know how much you all help lift me."

The actress revealed the diagnosis in an interview on "Good Morning America" on February 4th.

"My first reaction is always concern about, 'How am I going to tell my mom? My husband?'" she said.

"My mom is a ridiculously strong, courageous human being. So is my husband, but I worry about him. I'm petrified. I'm pretty scared," she added.

"There are definitely days where I say, 'Why me?' And then I go, 'Why not me? Who else?'" Doherty said. "Who else besides me deserves this? None of us do."

"It's so weird for me to be diagnosed and then somebody who was, you know, seemingly healthy to go first," said Doherty about the death of co-star Luke Perry. "It was really, like, shocking. And the least I could do to honor him was to do that show. I still haven't done, in my opinion. So it's a hard one."
