The comedian quoted the post with a heartwarming caption that read, "Yeah, I Love My Job" to express her delight in receiving the message. The hit series won three Emmy Awards for Outstanding Cast for a Comedy Series, Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series, and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.

Although this gesture melted the hearts of fans, it is probably not enough for fans to forget what happened during Brunson's acceptance speech at the Emmys. The controversial moment, as reported by The Blast, occurred when the award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for the show was presented to her.

Presenters Jimmy Kimmel and Will Arnett performed a mini comedic skit before she came on stage to receive her prize. Although during her acceptance speech, she did not seem bothered while Kimmel lay at her feet jokingly protesting his loss for the same category, the internet was anything but happy about his actions.

They accused him of trying to steal a black woman's spotlight at an essential time in her career. Some wrote things like "Quinta Brunson deserved better than giving her acceptance over Jimmy Kimmel's "dead" body," and how they feel that the late-night show host owes the "iZombie" actress an apology.

Although the internet felt slighted, the 32-year-old remained unbothered. The actress who made history as the second Black woman to win that category responded to a question about the controversy in a press conference with Variety, saying, "I know Jimmy Kimmel, and I don't know, I feel like the bit didn't bother me that much. I don't know what the internet thinks…."

She spoke about the 54-year-old host's impact on making her show a success and how he positively impacted her career as a comedy godfather. The Philadelphia native took a moment to get cheeky, saying that although she was happy today, she might be upset at him tomorrow and even punch him in the face when she makes an appearance on his own show.

The "Big Mouth" guest star revealed that she did not expect her brainchild, inspired by her high school years, to gain so much momentum in such a short time. In February, The Blast shared that her character was supposed to be a minor character but was pushed up as a significant character as the series unfolded.

Brunson plays a poor teacher with charisma who would do anything for her students while battling a dark side rooted in her lack of childhood friends and insecurities from when she was a child.

Due to its reception, the series quadrupled its ratings since its inception, and she explained to Harpers Bazaar that she was overwhelmed and happy to receive such positive response with just a few episodes airing.

She felt so grateful that she almost pulled back from Twitter because of how positive the messages and comments were. Adding, "I'm a child of the internet, but at the end of the day, ratings are still a huge indicator of how successful a network perceives a show to be."
