In December of 2019, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi announced that she would be leaving the Jersey Shore franchise after Season 3 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. The announcement came as a surprise to her costars and fans alike.

Snooki is only the second main cast member to leave the franchise. Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola decided not to return to the reboot, Family Vacation.

Recently, The Situation revealed that he tried to convince Snooki not to leave the show. Find out what he did.

When Snooki initially announced that she was leaving the Jersey Shore franchise, she said that she wanted to focus on her family and spend more time with her children. She went on to claim that she and her family have received death threats and she needed to do what was right for her family.

About a week later, she gave some more insight into her decision. She said, “I think when I was, like, actually forcing myself to be in a situation that I wasn’t happy in. Like, I was forcing myself to be ‘happy,’ and I’m like, ‘That’s not me.’ I’m not genuinely happy.”

Snooki also added that she wanted to be done with the "drama and drinking and drama."

Snooki hinted at some serious drama with costars that she didn't name and said that she was tired of the way the viewers of the show were reacting to the actions of her friends and costars. Snooki also said she didn't like how the show was portraying her.

Though she never said it outright, sources close to her confirmed that the drama she was referring to was the infamous wedding speech at Angelina Pivarnik's wedding and the falling out that followed.

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and Snooki have had a tumultuous relationship. In the original seasons of Jersey Shore they had two modes: best friends for life or absolute enemies. Since The Situation got sober and the two reunited on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, the two have been pretty close.

In a recent interview, Sorrentino revealed that he didn't want Snooki to leave and tried to talk her out of it. He said, “I didn’t agree with it, but I have to support my sister."

So, what did Sorrentino do to try to get Snooki to stay? “I had texted her, called her and tried to convince her to reconsider." But apparently nothing he said would change her mind, and he supports her decision.

"She has to do what’s right for her and we have to support her as a family," Sorrentino said. "Maybe she’ll come back and revisit, maybe she’ll have a change of heart. Who knows? I’m hopeful for the future.”

So, get as much Snooki as you can before she's gone! The second half of Season 3 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation starts on Thursday, February 27th!
