Miley Cyrus' Newest Tattoos Have Nothing to Do With Liam Hemsworth

So, it is obvious by now that Miley Cyrus is a fan of getting tattoos. Some, if not all, are sentimental to her in some way. She has at least 20 tattoos, maybe more. In December 2019, she added to her collection with two more tattoos done by celebrity tattoo artist, Winter Stone.

December 2019 is a significant time for her to choose to get tattoos. It was a time of change in her life following her breakup with Liam earlier last year.

Stone posted pictures of the tattoos on Instagram. The first, shown below, is the word 'freedom' written in script across Miley's hand. Though it is a simple tattoo with one word, it speaks volumes. She is finally free from her past, and this tattoo signifies how important these recent changes in her life have been. One might think that her breakup with Liam is why she got the tattoo.

However, this is apparently NOT the reason she got the tattoo. Well, at least that is what we are being told. The word 'freedom' is a prominent word in the song 'Mother's Daughter.'

So, one tattoo is a reference to one of her songs. The other tattoo is a copy of the handwritten note Miley received from Yoko Ono. This tattoo is on Miley's shoulder and reads, “I’m proud of you, Yoko."

Well, that's ICONIC.

In the summer of 2019, Miley also got more tattoo additions that are worth mentioning. One tattoo is on her left bicep and it reads, "My head was feeling scared, but my heart was feeling free." This tattoo was also done by Winter Stone.

In October 2019, Miley got another tattoo, and this time Cody Simpson tagged along. While they did not get matching tattoos, what they got is still worth mentioning.

Cody got a skull and crossbones, and Miley got a bleeding heart with a knife pierced through it. There is also lettering written on a ribbon that goes across the heart that says 'Rock 'n Roll Heart.'

These tattoos were done by celebrity tattoo artist, Nico Bassill. This tattoo was not Cody's first either, as the two are pretty much equally decked out in ink.

Tattoos are a form of expression, and Miley has gotten quite a few of them since her split from Liam Hemsworth. Perhaps she is trying to relay the message that she is just fine, even happy, without him.

She is making strides in her career, and her divorce is not holding her back from success. She seems better than ever.
