John Stamos is opening up about his last moments with Bob Saget!
The Hollywood sensation, who starred alongside his longtime friend on ABC's hit sitcom "Full House," took some time this weekend to honor the deceased comedian. Eight months after Saget unexpectedly passed away in January at 65, the Cypress native attended the annual Disney conference in Anaheim to reminisce about the actor.
John Stamos Shares Emotional Tribute To Bob Saget At Disney's D23 Expo
The presentation for Disney+ and the Disney Channel at the D23 Expo was a bittersweet moment for Stamos. A Youtube video from the event captured the entertainer's heartwarming stories about his time with Saget. Although the "Never Too Young to Die" star participated in the show to promote his Disney+ series "Big Shot," it did not stop the actor from reflecting on the last memories he shared with his friend.
Dressed in an all-black suit with a blue shirt, the Project Cuddle spokesperson traded his typically shaven face for a full beard and confidently walked on stage to share his message. After discussing the return of his comedy-drama series, the father-of-one spoke about how promoting the second season of his show coincided with Saget.
Disney had a way of bringing people together as the last place the friends hung out was surprisingly at the brand's famous theme park, Disneyland. As Stamos began talking about their outing, two pictures of the pals' popped up on the screen.
The first image showed the late comedian rocking a black suit jacket and blue shirt similar to his friend's outfit on stage. Perhaps this picture inspired the "Fuller House" executive producer's wardrobe choice for the D23 Expo.
The "Full House" co-stars may not have twinned it up for the snap, but the longtime friends looked as happy as two peas in a pod with matching black sunglasses and bright smiles. Despite being over 50, the Hollywood actors let their inner child loose at the amusement park. The second image captured the pair in onesies designed as Disney characters.
Looking back at these precious memories was a difficult task for the "Born to Ride" star. The 59-year-old fought back the tears as he told the audience about his last moments with Saget. Stamos confessed he could not recall the rides, food, and activities he had with the "How I Met Your Mother" narrator. However, the emotions from that day remained unchanged in his heart. In his words:
"I do remember the feelings we felt. We had fun, we laughed, we acted like big kids, we felt that easy, unspoken love that happens between grown men dressed in weird pajamas."
The Cypress native continued with a quote from one of Disney's most beloved characters, Winnie the Pooh, that read,"'Any day spent with you is my favorite day." Referencing this message, the father-of-one noted that every day he spent with Saget was his favorite day. However, the best moments occurred on the pair's Disneyland outing.
Moments later, the People's Choice Award winner announced that he had a new favorite memory thanks to the audience at D23 Expo. According to the actor, discussing his memories of Saget at the event served as his latest fond memory. The "Wedding Wars" star concluded his tribute by showering praises on the late comedian alongside a powerful reminder about life.
The Emmy nominee explained that no one could reclaim their time with people, which is why Saget lived as a man who ensured everyone knew how much he cared about them. According to Stamos, his friend was "bombastic with his love" and never left anyone to second-guess their standing with him.
The Broadway Star Slammed The Tony Awards For Excluding His Late Friend From In Memoriam
As previously shared by The Blast, Stamos bared his fangs at the Tony Awards after the prestigious ceremony failed to acknowledge his late friend in their In Memoriam segment. The Cypress native expressed his discontent with the event's showrunners on Twitter, emphasizing that Saget's track record should have earned him a spot.
According to Stamos, the late TV personality was "brilliant" in films like "The Drowsy Chaperone and Hand to God." The Soapy Award winner concluded by asking Broadway League and The Wing to honor the comedian.
