Lorde may have famously proclaimed she had "never seen a diamond in the flesh" in her 2013 career-defining debut "Royals", but here's a big event she'll soon witness: The release of her younger sister's debut single!

Nine years ago, the then-17-year-old Ella Yelich O'Connor burst onto the indie music scene with the aforementioned single, which frankly detailed how Yelich-O'Connor and her friend group responded to the frequently mentioned subject of monetary wealth in pop songs, and she has since become one of the most notable musicians of the last decade.

Now, with three full-length albums to her name, Lorde may be ready to pass on the torch.

Earlier this afternoon, Consequence Of Sound shared a link on Twitter to stream the 23-year-old India 'Indy' Yelich O'Connor's debut single!

Who Is India Yelich O'Connor?

Lorde's little sister is hardly new to writing her own material!

"Threads" won't be the first time the public will hear Indy's voice.

According to a 2015 Teen Vogue profile, she had gained some attention from posting cover songs to her SoundCloud account.

Indy also has a modest following generated from writing poetry! She independently released a volume of poetry called "Sticky Notes" in 2018, according to one of her two Instagram accounts!

In an Instagram post about the book written by one of Indy's friends, it was revealed Lorde had been on hand to help bring "Sticky Notes" to fruition!

"Her sister @lordemusic edited the book and actually found it hard to find anything worth editing," her friend, @caito_potatoe wrote, "so that's when you bloody know this book is KICK ARSE," she continued.

Indy did a number of poetry readings and book signings to promote "Sticky Notes" as well.

What About Her Music?

Now, it looks as if Indy is gearing up to begin a new era as a musician!

On her second (and more recently updated) Instagram account, Indy posted a black-and-white reel featuring her sitting at a piano, singing a 27-second snippet of "Threads."

According to Consequence Of Sound's post about the single, the ballad heard in the reel apparently isn't the only version of "Threads" floating around in the ether.

The outlet also reported that TMZ "has a clip of the track as an uptempo EDM-inflected pop anthem."

Whether Indy will eventually share every available version of "Threads" or not, her excitement about the song's release is evident in the Instagram post she shared on Tuesday.

She writes, "my debut song Threads is out September 15th. Can't wait for you to hear. i've lived with the song on the subway, driving around blasting it in friends cars for a second now," in the photo's caption.

Fans flocked to the comment section to congratulate Indy on her upcoming release, which is also available to pre-order.

Will her older sister come out of the woodwork to help celebrate the release of "Threads" or be inspired to write new material for an upcoming third album? Only time will tell!

Lorde's most recent album "Solar Power" was released last summer.
