Amy Winehouse's Tragic Death

Winehouse's longtime battle with alcohol ultimately led to her demise. She was discovered dead on Saturday, July 23, 2011, in her apartment in Camden, North London, with empty vodka bottles all about her. Her blood alcohol level was more than several times the legal limit for driving, which was excessive enough to render her unconscious and impair her respiratory system, according to a coroner's report written after her death.

Just like fans have paid tribute to celebrate the singer's birthday posthumously, Winehouse was commemorated on her day of passing a few months ago. The singer being just 27 years old when she passed on, underscored her innate brilliance, her spectacular rise, and the heartbreaking tragedy of her downward spiral and eventual collapse.

If she had overcome her demons, she might have equaled many legendary figures who came before her and set more records for up-and-coming artists.

An Upcoming Amy Winehouse Biopic

While fans of the singer already have the singer's discography to remember her by, they will also be getting a biopic produced by StudioCanal. Deadline said two months ago that the movie, which has been in development since 2018, will suddenly be moving forward.
