Jennifer Coolidge Shows Off Her Dance Moves During Emmy Acceptance Speech, Fans Can't Get Enough

Actress Jennifer Coolidge wanted more time to thank her supporters for her Emmy award win.

The 61-year-old was the recipient of the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her role in "The White Lotus." While giving her speech, Coolidge was played off by the music but stayed on to dance and complete her appreciation to fans.

On Twitter, fans of the star lauded her act and complained that the showrunners gave awardees only a little time for their speeches. Following Coolidge's win, the actress will star in the series' upcoming sequel, set to debut in October.

Coolidge's Emmy acceptance speech was a mixture of funny anecdotes followed by a determination to own her time on stage while being played away by the music.

Coolidge was overwhelmed with her emotions that she had a hard time at first pulling words from her mouth after she stepped on stage to collect her award for Outstanding Supporting Actress win for her role in "The White Lotus."

She threw in a funny tidbit to explain away the lack of words. The actress said, "I just want to say I took a lavender bath today right before the show and it made me swell up inside my dress, and I'm having a hard time speaking."

While thanking her supporters and the showrunners, Coolidge was played off by the music but stood her ground and continued with her appreciation speech. At some point, she shimmied to the sounds of the band, which included songs like "Hit the Road Jack" to the delight of the audience.

On Twitter, fans of the actress commented on her act, loving that the singer tried to have more stage time to enjoy her "once-in-a-lifetime" moment.

One fan said, "They really need to stop cutting people off. It's so ridiculous to think viewers would rather see sub-par comedy. This is a once in a lifetime moment & we'd get better speeches if they had more time."

Coolidge's cast and crew from "The White Lotus" swept the most accolades in the award show, winning the five categories for which they were nominated. The list includes Outstanding Limited Or Anthology Series, Outstanding Writing For A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie, Outstanding Directing For A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie, and Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Limited Or Anthology Series Or Movie.

Jason Sudeikis and Bill Lawrence's sports comedy-drama "Ted Lasso" came next, taking home the awards for Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series, and Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series.

Other notable series that took home accolades include "Succession," "Squid Game," "Abbott Elementary," and "Ozark." 

"Euphoria" star Zendaya was also rewarded for her performance in the controversial series, landing the Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series award.

Following her Emmy win, Coolidge is slated to reprise her role in "The White Lotus." She starred as Tanya McQuoid in the comedy-drama, which first debuted on HBO in July 2021, garnering critical acclaim from fans and critics.

The fictitious White Lotus resort chain's visitors and staff were the focus of the television show, and their dysfunctions were detailed throughout the series. While the show's first installment was set in Hawaii, the upcoming sequel will backdrop in Sicily.

Plot details about season 2 have yet to be released by the showrunners. However, fans of the show will get to see new cast members, including F. Murray Abraham, Michael Imperioli, Tom Hollander, Theo James, Meghann Fahy, and Adam DiMarco.

The upcoming sequel is set to debut on the streaming platform sometime in October.
