Rapper Pnb Rock has passed on.
The "Fleek" hitmaker was murdered on Monday afternoon while having a meal in a restaurant in Los Angeles. Following his passing, the rapper's friends and admirers sent him poignant condolences on social media while also expressing concern at the state's soaring crime rates.
Although the investigation into the incident is still ongoing, no other details about it have been made public, including if any suspects are still being pursued. The rapper worked with a wide range of musicians before his passing and produced a number of successful hits.

PnB Rock Dies At 30
Rapper PnB Rock has lost his life due to gunshot wounds he received after being robbed on Monday afternoon inside the Inglewood, South Los Angeles eatery Roscoe's House of Chicken & Waffles.
The Philadelphia rapper, whose real name is Rakim Hasheem Allen was in the restaurant with his girlfriend when an anonymous individual barged in and held him at gunpoint. The 30-year-old hitmaker was allegedly shot multiple times by the gunman, who also made off with his jewelry worth thousands of dollars.
Rock was taken by ambulance to the hospital after the incident but had already lost a lot of blood before his arrival. He was declared dead at 1:59 p.m., according to L.A. Times.
The publication also noted that at about 1:23 p.m., police enforcement officials arrived at the crime scene to respond to the restaurant's reports of shootings. When they got there, the shooter had fled with the rapper's valuables and left behind distraught witnesses.
Fans Pour In Tribute To The Rapper
Following his demise, fans and acquaintances of the rapper have taken to social media to issue heartfelt tributes to him while stating their surprise at rising crime rates across the state.
One fan wrote, "r.i.p pnb rock. shit is so ridiculous. he had family and kids too and wasn't involved in anything gang related but was taken out because people want money. When will all of this stop already."
MTV shared on their official page that they are "deeply saddened to learn about the loss of PnB Rock at the hands of a fatal shooting. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones, and we remember his impact across the industry."
Another acquittance wrote, "This s--t broke my heart My brother always show love everywhere every time we saw him From day one this shit got to stop Took his life over some jewelry wow I'm putting up all my jewelry I'm done Rest in peace my brother Prayers go out to the family."
Investigation Into PnB Rocks Murder Is Ongoing
Amid the current controversy around Rock's death, a since-deleted Instagram post from PnB Rock's girlfriend that disclosed their whereabouts caused a stir online. Although the circumstances leading up to the shooting have not been established, many users have faulted Rock's girlfriend for making the post, opining that it was used to target the demised rapper.
Per L.A Times, Los Angeles Police Department is looking at security footage taken inside the restaurant. Additionally, they are looking into neighboring businesses to determine if any video footage exists of the suspect taking a particular route while absconding from the crime scene.
Law enforcement officials were still examining forensic evidence recovered from the murder site as of Monday night. No other information regarding the event has been released, including whether any suspects are currently being tailed.

Born Dec. 9, 1991, in Philadelphia, Rock garnered critical acclaim for his 2016 breakthrough song "Selfish," which reached No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100. He spent most of his career under contract with Atlantic Records but eventually decided to go independent.
