Pete Davidson Has Some Harsh Words For 'Saturday Night Live'

Comedian Pete Davidson already has his upcoming Netflix series to look forward to, so it's no surprise to see him speaking so candidly about his experiences working on SNL. Davidson has been apart of the SNL family since 2014, and now he's saying that his time on the show may be ending. While Davidson sees an end in sight, it's not like he's making any quick decisions. Davidson has even asked for the advice of comedian legend, Adam Sandler, about whether or not he should cut ties with the show he's been on for 6 years.

According to Davidson, Sandler mentioned that while it may seem right to go your separate ways, you still want to look at your options first. Sandler apparently gave the following advice, "You don't ever want to pull the trigger too early." Perhaps this is true in Davidson's case whose only 26 years-old and still has a lot of opportunities ahead of him. However, the world of stand-up comedy and acting gets competitive each day, and for a actor like Davidson, it's probably not a good idea to burn too many bridges.

Davidson first appeared in the third episode of the MTV comedy series Failosophy. He has connections with T.V. mogul Nick Cannon thanks to his appearance in Nick Cannon Presents: Wild and Out. If things don't go well for the 26 year-old, then perhaps he could get a gig as one of the host for Fox's The Masked Singer along with Cannon. Davidson also made an appearance in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which probably was the reason he almost acquired a role in another Fox show titled Sober Companion. Unfortunately, the show didn't make it to series after pilot.

Davidson joined SNL in 2014 during the show's 40th-season premiere. He was the first actor born in the 1990's to have been cast in the popular show. He was given a chance to audition for the show with series regular Bill Hader, whom he met while filming the Judd Apatow feature Trainwreck. He gained critical praise during his Indian Jones-style sketch with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, where after being pelted with poison darts, both he and Johnson had to suck the poison out of each other's body parts. Talk about being gross, and yet oddly funny.

Davidson still has a bright future ahead of him no matter if he decides to leave SNL or not. He's been praised for how he incorporates aspects of his personal life to his comedy sketches. Davidson often jokes about serious subjects, but does so in order to feel empowered. He says that by incorporating things that have troubled him when he was younger, he's able to overcome them and then move on to something else. This talented, young comedian is bold enough to joke about sensitive topics which come from his own troubled past, and that takes both bravery and honesty.
