Matthew Perry is confirmed to appear in the upcoming Friends special, amidst fears for the 50-year-old's health.
Perry has previously admitted to having problems with drugs and alcohol, but is reportedly "in the best place he's ever been" thanks to girlfriend Molly Hurwitz.
"[Matthew Perry] is in the best place he’s ever been," a source told Us Weekly. "She’s brought him to a place where he’s positive and confident. Nobody can remember seeing him this happy. He’s got a spring in his step that wasn’t there before. This relationship’s saved him.”

Perry and Hurwitz have only been dating for a short time, but reports suggest that things are going well - despite the 22 year age gap.
"His inner circle have wanted to see him settle down for a long time, especially Courteney Cox, and they hope him and Molly go the distance," the source said.
"Molly prefers nights in his private cinema watching films and eating home-cooked meals than going out."
The source also suggested that cohabitation could be on the cards, stating, "Molly has her own apartment but has been spending more and more time at his [place]."
Hurwitz recently wrote a sweet Instagram caption for Perry, which stated, "Second year being my valentine, but his first as an Instagram influencer," referring to Perry's recent decision to join Instagram. "HVD to my favorite."
This was posted on Hurwitz's private Instagram under a photo of Perry asleep on a couch with a smiley face balloon (his current profile photo). Since joining Instagram, Perry has amassed almost six million followers.
His latest post was a photo of the Friends cast, with the caption "It's happening..."
Perry confirmed his relationship with Hurwitz in January, although the pair have been dating for longer.
Perry was previously in a relationship with Masters of Sex star Lizzy Caplan. The pair were together from 2006 to 2012, making it Perry's longest-lasting relationship.
The pair reportedly broke up because Perry didn't want to get married. "He wasn't ready to make the full commitment so they split," an insider told Us Weekly.
They added, "It happened a year and a half ago. They haven't been together for a long time."
It was announced this week that the Friends cast would be reuniting for a special on HBO Max.
Perry will be joined by cast mates Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer on soundstage 24 at on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, where Friends was originally filmed.
"I became aware of Friends when it was in the very early stages of development and then had the opportunity to work on the series many years later and have delighted in seeing it catch on with viewers generation after generation," said HBO Max's chief content officer Kevin Reilly.
"It taps into an era when friends – and audiences – gathered together in real time and we think this reunion special will capture that spirit, uniting original and new fans.”
