The standards of beauty have drastically changed over the last decade alone. Makeup trends have changed drastically. Fashion trends have drastically changed. And the "ideal beautiful woman's body" image has drastically changed.
Before her tragic death, Aliyah was "ideal body figure" and standard of beauty. The slender, tom boy-ish, simple makeup look with glossy, dark brown, outlined lips was the staple look and standard of beauty. This standard seemed to make a change when she tragically died in a plane crash. Here is how the standards of beauty have changed since the beautiful Aliyah.

Britney Spears, in her prime, with hits like Oops...I Did It Again and Hit Me Baby One More Time, became the standard of beauty. It was a transition from slender and natural to slender but sexier and more revealing type of standard of beauty.
While the body type remained slender, fashion styles changed and makeup trends changed. While fashion became more revealing, makeup started to become more bold with blue and brighter colored eyeshadows, layers of mascara, and different hues of pink makeup.
Then there was this transition to slender and busty. Stars like Jessica Biel, Halle Berry, and Scarlett Johansson, were the standards of beauty with their slender body and big busts. This is when we started to see plastic surgery be a part of the mix because many women wanted that bigger boobs. This why some guys will say they are "boob guys" because there was a point in time that beauty was defined in part by the size of a woman's breasts.

Then there was a drastic transition to being slender, having a tiny waist, big boobs, and big butt. Kim Kardashian was the face of this beauty movement. As a result, plastic surgery has become a billion dollar industry as everyone is trying to achieve this really challenging and expensive look. The cost of a boob job is $5,000-$10,000 depending on the size that is desired. People spend thousands on surgeries to try to keep up with this standard of beauty and to "feel beautiful."

Thanks to people like Ashley Graham, there is a transition from plastic surgeries to loving yourself for the way you are. While Ashley Graham is considered to be a "plus size" model, but she is completely against that word (we all are). She has sparked the all bodies are beautiful movement. As a result, we are seeing more representation of "bigger women" in fashion, and we are seeing standards of beauty change to a more natural, authentic look. And we absolutely love it! Thanks Ash!
