Ariel Winter Trashed In See-Through Underwear Dress: 'What Was She Thinking?'

Ariel Winter might have left fans in tears with her final "Modern Family" snap, but the 22-year-old actress was all smiles as she posed with two of her co-stars this weekend. The sitcom star appeared in an Instagram update shared by 29-year-old Sarah Hyland on Sunday – the photo-heavy update also included actor Nolan Gould.

While fans have been gushing over the group shots, a comment quickly racking up likes saw Ariel's outfit questioned – Sarah Hyland even had to clap back.

Ariel had opted for an especially racy look as co-star Sarah celebrated her "Modern Family" friendships – then again, Ariel is known to flash the flesh, having kicked 2020 off with a booty-baring thong video.

Sarah's photo opened with a shot of herself and Ariel. The twosome was posing in black dresses – Sarah had opted for a ruched and semi-sheer midi dress with chic spaghetti straps and a bandeau bust finish, also rocking a pair of pointed-toe heels to match.

Ariel, meanwhile, was twinning by virtue of her color palette, but the girl behind Alex Dunphy was showing off far more skin. Ariel wore a see-through mini dress with the sheer fabrics revealing an underwear look beneath – the black bralette top and panties getup had its ante upped for any fans swiping to the right (and seeing a little booty flash).

A group photo also included 21-year-old Nolan Gould, with the New Yorker looking slightly snazzy in jeans, a dark top, plus a satin blue jacket.

Sarah took to her caption to thank everyone in the snap.

"I love these people with all my heart. 11 years together is proof you and your tv sister will start wearing the same outfit, siblings for life will be made, and you’ll forever fight over the same professor ? We’ll always be Dunphys and we’ll always have each other ❤️," she wrote.

Sarah's post brought in a mega response – over 250,000 likes had been clocked in one hour, with comments likewise pouring in quickly.

A comment highlighting Ariel's outfit quickly gained likes, though.

"What's up with Ariel Winter's outfit, tho," the fan wrote, with over 216 others liking the comment.

Another remark didn't name Ariel, but it appeared to launch a storm about her racy look.

"What was she thinking...seriously," the fan wrote.

"It's a good example on how to dress sexy/trashy vs sexy/classy," a fan replied.

Sarah then jumped into the comments section to reply to the popular comment: "You know that she's [fire emoji]?? I KNOW," the star wrote.

Sarah isn't the only member of the ABC sitcom marking its headline-making end. Sofia Vergara has done just this (with plenty of tears), with Ariel herself also taking to Instagram just a few days ago with a final trailer snap of herself – the photo showed her "Alex" name behind her.

"In just a few hours we will series wrap on @abcmodernfam, and along with everything else, I will be saying goodbye to the trailer I have had for almost a decade. Goodbye trailer! Goodbye Alex plaque! ? #modernfamily #memories #family #farewell," the star captioned her snap.

Clearly, not all of Ariel's looks prove automatic winners.
