Country singer Lindsey Renee Lagestee passed away unexpectedly after getting hit by a car last Friday. The founding member of Chicago-based country cover band Dixie Crush spent three days in the hospital before losing her battle, according to reports. She was only 25 years old. Her bandmates confirmed her death on Facebook revealing she was struck by a car outside of their show in Illinois on Friday, February 14 and died days later. “To our Dixie Crush family, aka the #CrushCrew, thank you so much for the outpouring of love and support these past few days,” the band's message began.

“Some of you may have already heard the terrible news, but It is with the heaviest of hearts, we sadly share that Lindsey Renee passed away on Monday due to complications from the accident last Friday," adding, "Our hearts are broken over this senseless tragedy.” Her Dixie Crush bandmate Jim Nonneman revealed more details regarding the accident telling Taste of Country that Lindsey Renee Lagestee had just parked her car outside their show venue when she was hit. “She had just parked a couple of blocks down for the club we were scheduled to play," Jim Nonneman told Taste of Country.

He continued, “She exited her pickup truck and was making her way to the venue when she was struck by a car.” Lindsey Renee Lagestee was reportedly taken to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Illinois where she passed away from her injuries. Fans and friends of the singer said she was known for her friendly deminer. Lindsey Renee Lagestee had been with Dixie Crush since 2015 when the band was founded. "From the very beginning, everyone knew she was something special. Her Uncle Tony described her best as a supernova. Above and beyond her beautiful voice, Lindsey just had a way of connecting with every audience leaving an indelible impression," the band's statement continued.

"Not only would she give an amazing performance, but after every show, Lindsey would come offstage, take time to meet anyone who wanted to say hi, take pictures, and build friendships," they added. "Lindsey cherished every moment on stage and put her heart and soul into every song…every performance." Lindsey Renee Lagestee leaves behind her parents, three sisters and her boyfriend, Kevin Machak. The group has joined her family in setting up a GoFundMe to help with hospital and funeral expenses. Lindsey Renee Lagestee's funeral will be held later today in Lansing, Illinois.
