Meghan King is waging a legal war against her second ex-husband, Jim Edmonds!
The reality star filed for a temporary restraining order against Edmonds after allegedly suffering verbal abuse at his hands. The former couple was together for five years before going their separate ways.
Meghan King Gets Restraining Order Against Ex Jim Edmonds
According to court documents obtained by People Magazine, in June, the “Real Housewives of Orange County” alum obtained a temporary restraining order against Edmonds in St. Louis County, Missouri, and it was given a continuance on Tuesday.
Per the court documents, King alleged that the former baseball player subjected her to “frequent and consistent verbal abuse.” She revealed that abuse came in the form of texts, on the Family Wizard parenting app, and sometimes through Edmonds’ attorney, negating their agreed terms of the parenting plan “regarding conduct towards” each other.
The disagreement between both parties comes from arguments emanating from co-parenting issues involving their children, 5-year-old daughter Aspen, and 4-year-old twin sons, Hart and Hayes, especially the pickup/drop-off schedule.
An excerpt of the document reads, “Based upon this history, it is Petitioner’s opinion that Respondent, as a result of his ‘celebrity’ status in this city, believes that he can ignore previous court orders, the parenting plan, and the parent coordinator, without consequence
The court docs explained that King chose to get a TRO against the father of her kids because she believes if he is given a “special treatment” because of his status as a celebrity, “it will reinforce Respondent’s belief that he can always get what he wants, regardless of court orders.”
The University of Mississippi alum explained her decision to make the TRO case public because Edmonds had “shielded” the situation with “sealed files and private hearings.” Both parties are expected to appear at an adult abuse docket where King believes she can urge Edmonds to “engage in reasonable negotiations.”

King’s restraining order request against her ex comes almost two months after Edmonds slammed her for lying about their son’s health. As The Blast reported, it happened that in a social media update, the 37-year-old Bravo star revealed to her fans that one of their twin sons, Hart, was suffering from Cerebral Palsy.
King explained in the post that the 4-year-old was facing difficulty potty training and learning other skills due to his condition. In another Instagram upload, the reality star lamented the struggles of being a mom to a child with such a condition.
“I don’t like being defined as a mother of a child with cerebral palsy. In fact, I actively work against it,” she wrote in a caption of the post, which saw her crying in the car with Hart in the backseat.
“…the reality is that Hart’s brain injury affects all of our lives daily. Although CP is defined as a motor disability, its symptoms rear their heads in a plethora of other ways. Today is the second day in a row that Hart has had to leave school for poor behavior,” King revealed in the candid upload.
Following King’s revelation, Edmonds blasted her for lying about her son’s medical condition, saying she got it wrong. The retired athlete claimed Hart wasn’t diagnosed with cerebral palsy but a condition known as periventricular leukomalacia, or PVL, which is a softening of the white brain tissue near the ventricles.

Edmonds’ through his rep said he wishes the “Say Yes To The Dress” star would respect their children’s privacy and stop putting their son’s challenges in the spotlight for just attention. “If Meghan wants to improve her ability to co-parent with Jim, it might be a good idea for her to stop constantly disparaging him,” Steve Honig, Edmonds’ rep, said.
