Battle Of The Breakups: Gisele Bündchen & Tom Brady VS Shakira & Gerard Piqué

There's been trouble in paradise for two major athletes and their famous significant others.

This past week, news broke that Gisele Bündchen has furious at her husband, Tom Brady, since he decided to come out of retirement and play another season in the NFL.

The couple is reportedly in a “epic fight” over his decision.

Things between them got so bad that the supermodel jetted off in a fury to Costa Rica at the beginning of the month.

Her departure came after multiple heated arguments, according to reports.

“Tom and Gisele are in a fight right now,” a source revealed to Page Six. The source noted these types of arguments have happened before; however, the couple always find their way back to each other on common ground.

Upon returning to Tampa, FL. Gisele reportedly hasn’t spoken to or made attempt to see her husband.

In another report from Page Six, “She [Gisele] flew back to Florida to be with her kids but hasn’t been to their home in Tampa. She isn’t back with Tom.”

There’s been rumblings that Gisele will NOT attend Brady’s first game of the new season.

A source told PEOPLE that there are currently no plans in place to have Gisele and their children attend the game.

A source revealed, “it's always a big thing when Gisele is coming to watch the game," with extra security and snacks for the family, but "as of right now, there's none of that for Sunday's game."

There’s always the possibility she will attend last minute, but given there is a lot of “tension” between the couple currently, the odds of that are looking slim.

"It feels very different this year than last year. She was excited to be here, we saw her around," the source told the outlet. "I'm not saying she can't possibly come, but nothing is in place for her to be here for the first regular season game and that seems weird."

The validity of “tension” in their relationship heightened when Brady was excused from practice with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for 11 days “to deal with some personal things.”

Brady even contributed to the noise of a rift with his wife by telling reporters, “There's a lot of s**t going on, so you just have to try and figure out life the best you can. You know, it's a continuous process.”

The couple has been together for 13 years and share two biological children together along with a son from Brady’s previous relationship.

Their love story is very similar to that of Shakira and Gerard Piqué’s once-relationship.

A mega-famous athlete hooks up with mega-famous singer/performer.

They hit it off, welcome two children together, spend nearly 12 years together before the relationship imploded.

Now, the circumstances surrounding Shakira and Piqué’s demise differ slightly from Gisele and Brady’s potential split.

The Barcelona defender reportedly cheated on Shakira for years and she walked in on him doing the deed with someone else.

Brady on the other hand is in a sense “cheating” on Gisele with football after promising to retire and stay retired.

In both cases, neither man kept their word to their partner/wife.

So, could Gisele and Brady’s relationship be destined to end like Shakira and Piqué’s?

It’s a possibility.

At this point in time, Gisele and Brady are still together and working through things.
