A few weeks ago, The Blast shared the news that the legendary title track for the 1980 film would be getting a new lease on life in relation to "Still Working 9 to 5's" release.
Like her character in the film, Doralee, Parton is in good company when it comes to the new "9 To 5" reimaging!
Parton and her friend Kelly Clarkson share the spotlight in the duet, which is now available for streaming today ahead of the documentary's theatrical run which begins on September 16th and runs through the 22nd, according to the documentary's official website.
Parton may be extremely busy adding to her musical legacy in 2022, but as it happens with reexamining older work while continuing to create new material, she has had to take a long and hard look at what she's accomplished in the entertainment business, even if she may not agree with some of the praise and accolades that come her way.
Looking Back On Her Legacy With Love

Earlier this winter Parton was announced as a member of the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame's class of 2022.
While the "Jolene" superstar appreciated her nomination, she still felt her legacy did not align completely with the institution and many of its inductees.
According to our report on the situation, Parton spoke about the situation on Twitter and "humbly rejected the nomination, as she did not consider herself a rock singer."
However by the time Parton made her statement and shared her thoughts, it had been too late to take any action. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame later responded to Parton's thoughts by "posting its own statement on Twitter, saying it was too late to back out when ballots had already been cast." (via The Blast)
Despite the situation and its timing, Parton was open to reflecting on the honor and what it meant for her achievements in the entertainment business.
She did just that in an interview with Billboard not long after her nomination news broke.
"People usually [say] 'Dolly rocks' or 'you rock' or 'you're a rock star' I thought they just meant I was cool, and I take that as a great compliment. But now I'm going to have to take it literally," she said in her interview.
Parton would go on to expand on her belief to Billboard, giving more insight into her feelings surrounding the meaning of her nomination.
"I never meant to cause any trouble or stir up any controversy," she continued, "It was always just my belief- and I think millions of other people too- always thought the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was just set up for the greatest people in the rock and roll business, and I just didn't feel like I measured up to that, and I don't want to take anything away from the people that have worked so hard..." Parton revealed.

Parton isn't only celebrating today's release of her "9 To 5" duet with Clarkson, but she also has lots of praise for her co-worker's work ethic!
She praised her pal in a press release about the duet's release.
"Nobody sings like Kelly Clarkson," Parton began in her statement, "she makes any song come alive. I love her voice on '9 to 5,' and I am so proud I get to sing with her on it," she said, before giving a nod to the song's producer Shane McAnally. (via People)
