The Real co-host Amanda Seales and Extra co-host Jennifer Lahmers have an awkward exchange over Seales' status and views on the talk show.
Since joining the talk show, Seales has received some pushback from viewers as well as social media due to her outspoken views and activism.
The newest addition to The Real panel posted on Instagram in January, "In this biiiihhhhhh. Thank you to The Real for welcoming me into their family. Looking forward to keeping folks laughing and learning next to these lovely ladies on the daily!"

The awkward exchange began while Lahmers was interviewing the show's co-hosts as they celebrated its 1000th episode.
During the interview, the Extra host commented on the show being in its sixth season when she stated, "Can you believe it's been six season? Well, not for you since you're a newbie." She pointed at Seales as she made the comment.
Seales retorted, "But I've been doing this a long time." Co-host Loni Love squeezed her hand in the clip as a form of reassurance for the new host.

The interviewer seemed to single out the comedian and actress even more as she pointed out some of Seales and co-host Jeannie Mai's somewhat heated exchanges.
Lahmers commented, "You and Jeannie have butted heads on several occasions."
At this point, Seales was tired of being singled out and decided to defend herself. She told Lahmers, "Have we? Stop."
Lahmer mentioned the exchanges coming with "the territory" before Seales stepped in.
Seales stated, "No, that's not the territory we're coming from. We're not butting heads. I think it's very, very important at a table full of diverse women, that we delineate the difference between a difference in opinion and butting heads."
She continued, "You will know when I'm butting head because there will only be one head standing, and as you can see that hasn't happened."
Seales captioned the video, "To Gather. She tried it. Don’t come for me unless I send for you. I am not hostile. I’m passionate. Happy Black History Month."
Over the years, the multi-trainer has been known for her strong opinions and bigger-than-life personality through her stand-up comedy, television and film roles and social media following.
Seales went viral in 2014 for a CNN news segment where she clearly bothered by the male panelists' views on the topic of catcalling.

Seales becoming the latest addition to The Real came after the original co-host Tamara Braxton departed the show in a flurry of drama at the end of Season 2. In the previous three seasons, the panel has been composed of Love, Mai, Adriene Houghton and Tamera Mowry-Housley.
In 2018, the show won its first Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Show Host for Houghton, Love, Mai and Mowry-Housely.
The talk show has been renewed through the 2021-22 television season, with another renewal possible.
