The director of the highly anticipated film, “Don’t Worry Darling,” is the October cover star for Vanity Fair.

In the issue she opened up about ‘DWD,’ her relationship with Jason Sudeikis, Harry Styles and the recent drama she’s been embroiled in.

Most recently, Wilde has been attempting to put out two fires. One fire with Florence Pugh and another with LaBeouf.

Last month, the actress-turned-director told Variety why she decided to fire LaBeouf from the film.

Wilde Said She Fired LaBeouf From "Don't Worry Darling"

“I say this as someone who is such an admirer of his work. His process was not conducive to the ethos that I demand in my productions. He has a process that, in some ways, seems to require a combative energy, and I don’t personally believe that is conducive to the best performances,” Wilde explained. “I believe that creating a safe, trusting environment is the best way to get people to do their best work. Ultimately, my responsibility is to the production and to the cast to protect them. That was my job.”

Not long after Variety published this interview, the “Honey Boy” actor shot down Wilde’s claims.

LaBeouf claims HE QUIT the film, not the other way around.

He also shared two emails he sent Wilde on August 24th and 25th outlining his disapproval.

LaBeouf wrote, “You and I both know the reasons for my exit. I quit your film because your actors and I couldn’t find time to rehearse.”

However, Wilde is staying true to her word and insisted SHE was the one who let him go.

“My responsibility was towards her [Florence Pugh]. I’m like a mother wolf. Making the call was tricky, but in a way he understood. I don’t think it would’ve been a process he enjoyed,” she said. “He comes at his work with an intensity that can be combative. It wasn’t the ethos that I demand in my productions. I want him to get well and to evolve because I think it’s a great loss to the film industry when someone that talented is unable to work.”

LaBeouf released text messages between him and Wilde, and also shared a video of Wilde begging him to give the film one more shot.

As for his release of those private messages, Wilde claims they were taken out of context.

“This issue is so much more nuanced than can be explained in private texts released out of context,” she told Vanity Fair. “All I’ll say is he was replaced, and there was no going forward with him. I wish him the best in his recovery.”

Both LaBeouf and Wilde were recently in Venice, Italy to promote films at the Venice Film Festival.

LaBeouf was at the festival to promote “Padre Pio” while Wilde was there to do press for ‘DWD.’

He agreed to an email exchange with The Hollywood Reporter regarding Wildes’ newest claims.

“It is what it is — every blessing to her and her film,” he told the publication.
