Ricky Martin is a scorned man and wants his legal revenge.
According to new legal documents, the Latin singer is suing his nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez Martin, for $20 million.
As we reported, Dennis is the son of Martin’s paternal half-sister, Vanessa. Earlier this year, his nephew filed a restraining order against his uncle and accused him of sexual abuse and domestic violence. But, Ricky has denied any of the shocking allegations.
Ricky Martin Seeks Revenge Against Nephew
The lawsuit, which was filed in Puerto Rico in July, accused the legendary singer of incest, which is considered a grave offense under Puerto Rican law. If convicted of this crime, he could have potentially faced up to 50 years behind bars.
Martin denied the claims and the case was later dismissed. In his denial, the “She Bangs” singer claimed his nephew was mentally ill. So, Martin filed a $20 million lawsuit against Dennis on Wednesday, September 7. He claims Dennis tried to “assassinate” his character. The singer also claims he’s been “persecuted, besieged, harassed, stalked and extorted by a maladjusted person,” aka his nephew.
According to reports, Martin claims his nephew hasn’t let up on his smear campaign.

At this point, Ricky claims a month following the dismissed restraining order, his nephew began sending messages to him via Instagram. Martin claims Dennis threatened to “assassinate his reputation and integrity” if he didn’t pay up. The singer alleges he’s lost multiple multi-million-dollar deals due to his nephew’s restraining order and false allegations.

In the lawsuit, Martin is asking a Puerto Rican judge to order the nephew to refrain from all communications with him and his family.
Twitter is currently coming to Martin's defense. Here are a few examples:
"Good. False accusations are reprehensible and diminish real victims’ chances of being heard."
"AS HE SHOULD!"
"I never believed it to begin with. Happy Ricky's going after the nephew."
"He knows his nephew doesn’t have that kind of money. Way to keep this story in the news, Ricky."
In late July, Martin shared his truth about the highly publicized incident. He appeared on camera and said, “I’m in front of the cameras today because I really need to talk in order for me to start my healing process. For two weeks, I was not allowed to defend myself because I was following a procedure where the law obligated me not to talk until I was in front of a judge.”
The “Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey” star expressed gratitude to God that the allegations levied against him were proven to be false. Nevertheless, he wanted to tell his truth.
“It has been so painful. It has been devastating for me, for my family, for my friends. I don’t wish this upon anybody,” Martin emotionally shared.
He then addressed his nephew directly, saying, “To the person that was claiming this nonsense, I wish him the best. And I wish he finds the help so he can start a new life filled with love and truth and joy and he doesn’t hurt anybody else.”
It's unclear how the nephew will respond to the lawsuit. We have reached out to Ricky's camp, so far no official comment.
