Kourtney Kardashian is taking the fashion world by storm as she sets out on her sustainable fashion journey with a new, interesting partnership. Announcing the collaboration on Tuesday, September 6, Kourtney is set to be the new ambassador of the fashion collection BooHoo, which naturally caused varied reactions from fans worldwide.
Kourtney Kardashian Feels Enlightened With Sustainability Collab Fans Feel Different
According to PEOPLE, the 43-year-old socialite joined forces with the brand on an alliance "grounded in her signature runway-worthy style and sustainable, conscious practices." She said in a statement not long after the deal, “When BooHoo first approached me with this idea that was all about sustainability and style, I was concerned about the effects of the fast fashion industry on our planet.”
However, Kourtney felt it had been an “enlightening experience” discussing directly with fashion experts, and she admitted so. Speaking about the collection, the first out of two will feature 46 limited-edition pieces, including two vintage designs custom sourced by John Hickling of Glass Onion Vintage.
Hickling described the styles (biker jackets) as “your statement vintage piece” via a release on what shoppers can expect from the collection set to debut at New York Fashion Week on September 13. The campaign, starring Kourtney, also teases fans with what to expect with an outstanding range from “futuristic silhouettes and sophisticated outwear to timeless dresses, punk-rock ensembles and a bit of everyday Barbiecore.”
While symbolizing the media personality’s influential class, the collection, on the sustainability front, will include fabrics made from "recycled fibers, traceable cotton, recycled sequins, and recycled polyester for its faux leather." In addition, the brand will unveil “transparent practices” for consumers interested in knowing more about the clothing variety.

As for the partnership, Kourtney and BooHoo will initiate it with a series of social content depicting the celeb’s sustainable fashion journey with industry professionals. Although there was still a lot to be done, including improvements, the lifestyle mogul believed in her and the brand’s goal towards conscious style.
She maintained that any progress regarding sustainability was "a step in the right direction and will open up the conversation for future advancements."
Meanwhile, immediately after social media users got wind of the new collaboration, they took to Twitter to express their opinions, with many not being so supportive. One wrote, “Kourtney Kardashian being Boohoo’s Sustainability Ambassador is the joke of the day,” and another agreed, with a note that implied that the Poosh founder was “greedy” and “hypocritical.”
At the same time, a verified user, Mollie Goodfellow, believed Kourtney being a sustainability ambassador for BooHoo was like being an "ethics advisor for conservatives." Another critic exclaimed that it was the “biggest load of b*llocks” and wondered whether “ultra-fast fashion stans” approved of the deal.
In mockery of Kourtney, one user inquired if she flew on her private jet to her “BooHoo sustainable fashion line meetings” given that doing so meant the opposite of sustainable. A critic then asked, “are we being punked” after pointing out that BooHoo was a fast fashion brand. At the same time, one other commenter likened the partnership to a fitness influencer collaborating with Burger King.
“boohoo is anything but good for the environment,” another critic wrote, whereas one was uncertain which was funnier between the affiliation or “Mitch Landrieu being the infrastructure czar.” As a well-to-do influencer, Kourtney undoubtedly had loads of money which a user pointed out, advising that she could turn down BooHoo’s offer and work with “a brand that genuinely promoted fashion and pays their garment workers.”
The 'Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami' Star Flies Commercial
Although fans are not very supportive of Kourtney's new role in pushing the idea of sustainability in the fashion industry; however, she has sometimes shown her passion for saving the environment. Unlike her sisters, Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, the 43-year-old flew commercially to her husband, Travis Barker’s show in Cleveland, Ohio.
The Blast reported that it is commonly known that Kim and Jenner have private jets they use to travel for mere minutes or halfway across the globe. This made them face backlash for the amount of pollution their jets emit on the environment. However, it seems their sister is not walking in their shoes.
The mother-of-three recently gushed about her obsession with “flying commercial” after sharing a clip of herself in a private suite at the Los Angeles International Airport. While she loved “raiding the suite’s snacks and toiletries,” she seemed to have positively impacted the environment by going commercial.
