Actor Shemar Moore Announced His Mother's Passing and Credits His Mother With His Entire Career

Shemar Moore, of CBS’s SWAT uploaded a heart-wrenching tribute to his mother on Wednesday, announcing her death and sharing what she had meant to his life.
Moore, who is known for his charismatic approach to interactions with his fans, cried as he held up pictures of his mother and explained why he had taken a step back from social media following his mother’s passing on Feb. 8.
The actor has been known to play overtly alpha male parts in his years-long career on network television and has become beloved by many.

Along with 10 videos uploaded to his Instagram account, Moore captioned his tribute saying that, "Marylin Joan Wilson-Moore, my mother, best friend, and partner in crime passed away Feb 8th at 76 years old...”
Moore went on to say that he would “miss her more than I ever thought possible and I don’t know how to do this life without her ....”
The almost 50-year-old actor began his career in the mid-90s and has since racked up a substantial body of work, mostly in television.

In the caption of his videos, Moore highlighted how much he thought of his mother saying that gets much of what makes him the man he is today from her:
“…I get my STRENGTH from her and I will be OK because of HER. Mama.... here come that man!!!!! What I do from this day forward is for YOU!!!! I’m going to continue to LEAP and pray that the NET appears!! It was too soon .... and it hurts so bad.... but I know you are with me and will continue to give me strength... I love you mama ❤️”

Moore’s post received a huge response with more than 225,000 “heart” responses at the time of this writing.
Several notable figures also commented on the post, including the MS Society due to his mother suffering from Multiple Sclerosis.
“We are so saddened to hear this news, Shemar,” the MS Society wrote. “Marylin was an amazing woman, and your loss is truly a loss to us all. Your MS family is thinking of you and sending love.”
Additionally, actor Bill Bellamy said, “My prayers go up for you my brother... it’s so much to process .. may God surround you with love through this horrible time... ????????”

Fellow SWAT actor Lou Ferrigno Jr. offered his condolences as well, saying “So so sorry to hear this terrible news my brother. You are a man of strength and honor that she forged from fire, and she will forever be proud, looking down upon you from heaven. My heart hurts for you and your family.”
Moore’s career has taken him from daytime TV on The Young and the Restless in the mid-90s to his more famous role as Derek Morgan on CBS’s Criminal Minds to now the leading role as “Hondo” in SWAT.
