Sharon Osbourne has been rocking flaming red hair for 18 years, but all that is at an end. The controversial reality TV personality unveiled her new silver locks on The Talk and explained why she made the change:
"I was just so fed up of going and having it dyed and having it dyed, and I just was like, I can’t do this anymore. I’m like, why am I trying to do something or be something that I’m not? So, just be who you are."
She continued, explaining that other famous grey haired women inspired her to forgo the red.
"Jane Fonda, Helen Mirren — and I’m like, ‘Look how elegant they look.'"

Her colorist to the stars, Jack Martin, posted a side by side transformation photo and a reason why Osbourne went more natural.
"Sharon has 100% white hair and she was coloring her hair once a week dark vibrant red for the past 18 years. She explained to me that she wanted to do this transformation a long time ago but every time she attempts it ends up with a disaster. Sharon was very tired of coloring her hair once a week and was obligated to since she is on TV almost every day hosting her popular TV show @thetalkcbs.
I didn't promise Sharon anything but I told her I will try my best, it took me a total of 8 hours from start to finish to get her to a platinum blonde so she doesn't have to be committed to coloring her hair once a week anymore. I had a great time spending my day off with this gorgeous, humble, and sweet soul."
Her fellow hosts of The Talkasked what Sharon's hubby, rocker Ozzy Osbourne, thought of her dramatic new look, and Sharon quipped that he seemed to approve.
"He says, the Devil Wears Prada!"
Ozzy has been dealing with a variety of health issues lately, so it makes sense that Sharon is looking to make her look more practical as she cares for him.
Now, just because Osbourne is skipping weekly hair color appointments doesn't mean that she's going totally low maintenance. While she was on The Talk, she made it clear that she wasn't giving up plastic surgery with her new white hair.
"I don’t say I’m going to stop the surgery, just change my hair."
Sharon previously spoke to Jimmy Kimmel about getting facelifts:
"You know what it is? It’s just that it’s so popular now for men and women to get facelifts that there’s very few, really good surgeons and there’s so many people wanting to have it done that, odds are, you’re gonna get a dud. I think, too, a lot of people go in to change too much and then it just doesn’t work"
