Mikaela Spielberg, who lives in Nashville, has already reportedly submitted an application to become a sex worker, and says her dad is being supportive of her decision.
“I got really tired of not being able to capitalize on my body and frankly, I got really tired of being told to hate my body,” Mikaela told The Sun.
She told the site she was doing this for specific reasons.
“And I also just got tired of working day to day in a way that wasn’t satisfying to my soul. I feel like doing this kind of work, I’m able to ‘satisfy’ other people, but that feels good because it’s not in a way that makes me feel violated.”
She says her new career is “safe” and “consensual,” and that “I can’t stay dependent on my parents or even the state for that matter – not that there’s anything wrong with that – it just doesn’t feel comfortable for me.”
Fox News adds that Mikaela has been open about her borderline personality disorder.

Some are saying Mikaela’s decision is just a bad idea.
“This is not good. The Spielberg’s worked hard to provide Mikaela with lots of love, a great education & all the perks that come with being a celebrity child, yet it seems that you can’t really change some things. IMHO, this is a step backwards for adoption. So, so, so very sad ?,” wrote @Michael91937224.
“No… Just… NO….”, said glenoames underneath one of Mikaela’s Instagram posts.
Despite coming from a privileged family — Kate Capshaw is an actress and Steven Spielberg is an acclaimed director — Mikaela has had a tough life, struggling with alcoholism until she nearly died.
“When I was 21, I used to drink every day and that went on for like two years until I almost died a couple of times.”
Last October, Mikaela wrote a lengthy message on Instagram about her addiction and harm reduction, which she says is “about celebrating small steps that help us live our fullest life without relying on shame, unconditional positivity and religion based recovery. “
She hopes her new decision will be a good one.
“I actually think that once they see how far I’ve come from the bottom I was at a year and a half ago, they’re going to look at this and go, ‘Wow, we actually raised a really self-assured, young lady.'”
Mikaela says working in the adult entertainment industry is a “positive, empowering choice,” adding that she won’t be participating in any sex while on camera.
She’s engaged to Chuck Pankow, 47.
