Real estate mogul Jason Oppenheim has opened up about keeping the early moments of his former romance with Chrishell Stause out of the public eye.
The pair dated for a few months in 2021 before publicly revealing their relationship in an exclusive with People. They later parted ways towards the end of the year but have remained friends despite moving on to other relationships.
Oppenheim described that it was difficult to keep private the early days of his relationship with Stause. He also stated that while they are no longer together, he and the reality star are "in a really good place" and want the best for one another.

'We Kept That Private'
In a recent interview, Oppenheim opened up to People about his love life, including specifics about his past relationship with Stause. For a period in their relationship, the pair kept their connection a secret from the media, which the actor described as challenging.
"We kept that private for a while, but we were so careful. And that was so difficult. I didn't want to go through that again," he told the publication.
Oppenheim and Stause met on the set of the Netflix reality series "Selling Sunset" and became close friends before becoming romantic. They admitted they were a couple in an exclusive with People in July 2021, and soon after, they started sharing PDA photos of themselves on Instagram.
The pair were also seen attending events together, which made many assume that the relationship was only getting stronger. However, after five months of dating publicly, Oppenheim and Stause parted ways. The pair had conflicting views about starting a family and decided it was best to end their romantic connection for good.
Jason Oppenheim's Relationship With Model Marie-Lou Nurk
Currently, Oppenheim is dating the model Marie-Lou Nurk. Early in July, the couple's relationship made the headlines after they were seen kissing in Mykonos, Greece. Per People, Oppenheim claimed he wasn't necessarily concealing their relationship, even if he didn't anticipate it being well publicized so soon.
"I suppose if we were being very careful, we just never would've kissed in public. But I certainly wasn't thinking that we would get caught — and on some Greek island in a parking lot, too," he told the publication.
The reality star also said that his new relationship makes him "happy every day," although he quickly clarified that he wasn't making a mockery of ex-girlfriend Stause with that statement.
"I was also really happy with Chrishell," he added. "I don't want to dismiss that relationship. But yeah, I'm just very happy right now."
Jason Oppenheim and Chrishell Stause Are Still Friends
Like her ex, Stause has also moved on to a new relationship and is currently dating binary musician G-Flip. Oppenheim still maintains a connection as friends with her, explaining in his interview with People that they want each other to be happy.
"Chrishell and I are in a really good place, and she wants me happy. I want her happy. I think we're both in love and happy for each other," he said.
He had also previously confirmed the notion of being friends in a post on Instagram, which he shared after they broke up.
"While Chrishell and I are no longer together, we remain best friends, and we will always love and support one another," Oppenheim stated at the time. "She was the most amazing girlfriend I've ever had, and it was the happiest and most fulfilling relationship of my life."
Jason Oppenheim Discussed Fatherhood And Marriage
Last month, Oppenheim revealed just how serious his relationship is with Nurk. At the time, the reality star shared he was now open to quitting his bachelor life to become a husband. However, he admitted his unreadiness to become a father.
"I'm more open to being a husband than I am a father right now," he said, per People.
He further told the publication that Nurk had not pressured him into having kids and just wanted to enjoy their relationship. "I like the idea that there's no pressure, or a thought about having to have a child with Lou. So it just makes it easy for us."
Oppenheim also shared whether he would eventually have kids, "I think for the next 10 years, I'm good. And that's a long time, so I'm not even thinking about it yet."
