The Price Is Right host, Drew Carey, is mourning the loss of his ex-fiance, Amie Harwick, following her alleged murder at the hands of an ex-boyfriend.
Carey and Harwick were engaged in November of 2018, but decided to call things off and split up this past December. The former couple still cared about each other, though, and there were no hard feelings about what had happened.
Upon hearing of the news that Harwick had been killed, Carey went to social media to post an old picture of the two together, as well as, release a formal statement on the loss.
On Twitter, Monday, Carey posted a picture of the two when they were still together. They can be seen sitting on a Christmas-themed set with a red, velvet throne, polar bears, and a snow-covered Christmas tree, all in the holdau cheer.
Both were smiling ear to ear and looking extremely happy. In the Twitter post, Carey captioned it with, “I hope you’re lucky enough to have someone in your life that loves as much as she did.” Carey also released a formal statement on Harwick’s tragic death and what she meant to him.

“Amie and I had a love that people are lucky to have once in a lifetime. She was a positive force in the world, a tireless and unapologetic champion for women, and passionate about her work as a therapist,” Carey began in his statement, referencing her work as a therapist.
“I am overcome with grief. I would like to thank you in advance for giving myself and everyone who loved Amie privacy while we try to work through this tragic situation,” he concluded.

Harwick was pronounced dead on Saturday, succumbing to injuries she sustained from her fall from the third-story balcony of her Hollywood Hills apartment, according to CBS Los Angeles.
Police had been called prior to Harwick’s fall by her roommate who shared with the authorities that she was being assaulted in the apartment. The person who allegedly assaulted her and is now being targeted in the murder investigation is her former boyfriend, Gareth Pursehouse. Pursehouse was arrested on the scene and taken to jail.

In charging Pursehouse in connection with Harwick’s death, he is being held on a $2 million bond. It is unknown whether he has been able to post bail or if he’s even allowed to do so.
Upon the police investigation of the apartment, they found that there was, in fact, a struggle that had occurred there. Unfortunately, the temporary restraining order that was presented to Pursehouse in order to keep Harwick safe, had just recently expired. There have been calls to change this law, in the wake of Harwick’s death, so that similar tragedies don’t happen again to people who have previously experienced domestic violence or could in the future.
