A Look Inside the Family Life of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick

Married for over 30 years, actors Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick seem to live a charmed life with successful careers and two children. Like any other couple, be they the Hollywood-types or your average Mrs. and Mrs. Smith, the two have had their trials. The manage through them because they not only still love each other but like one another as well.

The pair met on the set of the television drama 'Lemon Sky' when Sedgwick was 22 and Bacon was 29.

Along with many others, the couple learned they had been swindled out of millions as a result of con artist Bernie Madoff's Ponzi scheme in 2008. Losing such a nest egg was indeed a shock to their system but they never blamed each other. Instead, they dealt with the financial loss by focusing on what really matters, their family.

“We kind of said though, ‘Well, our families are OK, the kids are healthy, and we’re healthy; we’ll get back to work.’ What else are you going to do? There are a lot of people who had it a lot worse than we did,”Kevin Bacon said.

Normally not one to go around offering marriage tips all willy-nilly, Sedgwick and Bacon do have a few personal admissions to share:

When it comes to house cleaning, Kevin Bacon admits that he still does not like making up the bed because they’re only going to get right back in it 12 hours later, but his wife really, really likes a made bed. Sedgwick states the biggest fight they’ve ever had was when she wanted to move back to Manhattan and her hubby wanted to stay in Connecticut.

Their daughter Sosie is an actress who is creating a successful path for herself. The 27-year-old made her acting debut in 2005 starring alongside her parents in the film 'Loverboy,' playing the younger version of her mom's character, Emily. She also appeared for a season in her mother's television series 'The Closer' in 2009, playing the part of Brenda's niece.

Sosie currently stars in the popular Netflix series 'Narcos: Mexico' as Mimi Webb Miller, a debutante from a prominent Texas family and niece of a former U.S. senator who dated the notorious drug lord Pablo Acosta.

The couple's oldest child, Travis, is a musician. The 30-year-old began his career as a child actor but later made the transition into music, playing guitar for a few rock bands. He has a degree in sound engineering and owns his own sound-recording studio, specializing in heavy music such as metal, punk, hardcore and rock. His compositions are a unique blend of technology and music.

Travis composed the soundtrack for his mother's directorial project 'Story of a Girl.' Both children follow in their parents' footsteps. Kevin Bacon is not only an actor, but he and his brother Michael make up the music duo, The Bacon Brothers.
