Lark Voorhies or better known as Lisa Turtle during her acting career on the show 'Saved By The Bell' was every teenage boy's crush when the show was released. She started her acting career at the age of fourteen and wanted to go big with her dreams. While she didn't just act in this one show it was what she is best known for. When 'Saved By The Bell' ended the actress seemed to fade into the background for a few years. She didn't have many starting rolls or much of anything during the early 2000s. Her life was fairly quiet but fans of her's thought something darker was going on. They thought she had fallen into the trap many young actresses and actors fall in, substance abuse. She wouldn't have been the first to dive into that world and it wouldn't have been a shock to the world if she had.

But the truth was a little harder to swallow than that. Something that no one talks about until more recent years. Mental health.

Mental health is a big issue all around but fans took note of her new appearance and erratic behavior first. They just assumed the worst and were going to write her off as another junkie.

It was actually her mother that came out to tell the world that her daughter was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. For those of you who don't know what that is, it is the major shifts between moods when there doesn't seem to be a reason for such a drastic shift. Meaning that the behavior that Voorhies was showing was just her mental illness showing it's ugly head.

Sadly, Voorhies' worries weren't over then. She was to get married to a known gang member despite her mother's worries. It was speculated that she just wasn't in the right frame of mind. That this man was taking advantage of her mental health.

This marriage would end divorce and from there it could only go up for Voorhies. She was out of a marriage that was controlling and a little scary after all. She was finally able to take control of her mental illness that had been largely hurting her life for years.

If you take a look at her Instagram now, it shows a healthy woman that seems to have her life together. She is smiling, her makeup is done perfectly, and overall she just looks better. Turns out getting help is the biggest help anyone can get. It has even helped her deal with not being invited to the reboot of the show.

Now she is going to open up to the public what it is really like to live with a disorder that so many people do not understand. We can't wait to see what she shares on Dr. Oz on February 19th.
