Many stars stepped out to support the Foo Fighters and show their respects for their late drummer, Tayor Hawkins, who passed away earlier this year at age 50. That included his son, Shane, only 16, who is following in his father's footsteps.

As Rolling Stone reported, Foo Fighters frontman and close friend of Taylor Hawkins, Dave Grohl, gave Shane a special introduction.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we have one more drummer that’s going to come up and play with us, and let me tell you I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone hit the drums as hard as this person, but beyond that, he’s a member of our family, Grohl began.

Taylor’s Family Thanks ‘Global Foo Fighters Community’ For Their Support

Taylor's widow Alison Hawkins, penned a touching tribute to thank fans for the outpouring of support that they received in the months following his death.

On March 25, Hawkins passed away in Columbia, where the Foo Fighters had been scheduled to perform. Emergency services had been summoned to his hotel room after he complained of chest pain; however, he was found deceased in his hotel room by the time they arrived.

A forensic investigation revealed several different types of drugs in his body, including heroin, antidepressants, and morphine, among others, which likely triggered an overdose. However, medical experts also discovered that Hawkins’ heart weighed 600 grams – double the weight of an average man’s heart – at the time of his death.
