In a new interview with the Daily Mail, Britney's eldest son opened up on why the boys didn't attend her June wedding to Iranian actor Sam Asghari and their thoughts on Britney's stifling 13-year conservatorship.

In the interview, which will air on ITV Friday, Jayden appears beside his father as he talked about why he didn't attend Britney and Sam's wedding, despite it being held in her own backyard.

"At the time it just wasn't a good time to go," Jayden said. "I'm not saying that I'm not happy for her. I'm really happy for them, but she didn't invite the whole family, and then if it was just going to be me and Preston, I just don't see how that situation would have ended on good terms."

Britney has been estranged from her father, Jamie, mother Lynne, sister Jamie Lynn, and brother Bryan, ever since her 13-year conservatorship ended in November 2021. Jayden was vocal about his famous family, admitting that, while the conservatorship went on for too long, he doesn't think his grandparents are "bad people."

In the interview, Jayden said that his grandfather was "just trying to be like any father, letting [his] daughter pursue her dream of becoming a superstar, but I did think maybe the conservatorship went on too long."

Jayden said the lengthy conservatorship was "probably why my mom was very angry about the whole situation that she was working for too long — I personally think she was. She should have taken a break and relaxed."

The 16-year-old then backed his grandfather, saying Jamie "doesn't deserve all the hatred he is getting" and doesn't find him to be "manipulative," despite what his mother has alleged.

"They are not bad people. They know what we are going through now. They want our future to be what we want it to be," Jayden said. "They just want to watch over us. Memaw [Lynne] and Uncle Bryan are a good part of our lives. They have taught me how to deal with things."
