Weeks before the third season of Grown-ish kicked off, the show teased that a character would be pregnant. A lot of fans speculated on who it could be. Some thought it could be Jazz and Doug’s baby because they are the only consistent couple on the show. Some even thought it could be Zoey but let’s be real. Rainbow and Dre would not have that. When season three’s first episode finally came on, nothing major happened until the final 30 seconds. It was finally revealed that Nomi was pregnant.
Fast Forward to the most recent episode titled ‘Gut Feeling,’ fans see Nomi going to the doctor. Of course, her best friend Luka is there to support her. When she gets back home, there is a surprise party for her. She then announces that she isn’t sure if she wants to keep the baby. Nomi’s parents want her to place the baby up for adoption. She wants to keep it but her parent’s advice is making her second guess that idea.

Her parents did say that they were going to support whatever decision she made. This is when all her friends sit down and discuss the pros and cons of each option. Nomi admits that she keeps going back and forth about her decision. She expresses that it’s going to be way harder to do it alone. This shifts the group’s conversation and now her friends become curious about how the guy (her baby’s father) feels about it. This is when Nomi admits that she didn’t tell him.

This makes her decision more complex because most of her friends think it’s wrong to not let the guy have any input. Nomi protests this idea at first because she believes that telling the guy about their baby would blow up his life. All of the characters make a far point. At the end of the discussion, this leaves Nomi even more confused. Ana, (the queen of finding anyone on the internet) finds the father of her baby. This shifts her decision.

Towards the end of the episode, she decides that it would be best if she goes home. This way, she would have the support of her family as she decides on what she wants to do. As they all stand outside, Nomi goes down the line and hugs everyone. When they hug, Zoey says “I’m not gonna say goodbye to you because I know I’m going to be seeing you soon.” Nomi gets into the car and drives off towards the airport. This moment leaves a lot of fans guessing. The way they said goodbye to Nomi makes people feel like she would be leaving for a long time. What changed was when Zoey said that line. It gave fans hope that Nomi would be back soon.
