Billie Eillish Responds to Justin Bieber's Beats 1 Interview

Billie Eilish responded to Justin Bieber wanting to protect her from the pitfalls of fame by supporting him on Instagram.

During a recent interview with Beat 1's Zane Lowe, Bieber reflected on his hiatus from the entertainment industry, before adding that he wants the pop star to avoid some of the pitfalls he experienced.

Both Bieber and Eilish have spoken out about the toll fame can have on a teenager in the age of social media. Having the same experience with instant fame has definitely bonded the pair.

In the clip, Eilish posted an emotional Bieber speaks on seeing the 18-year-old popstar's rise to superstardom, similar to his.

"I just wanna protect her, you know?" Beier stated in the clip with Lowe. "I don’t want her to lose it. I don’t want her to go through anything I went through. I don’t wish that upon anybody."

As the two shared a rise to stardom at a young age, Bieber wanted the Grammy winner to know that he's willing to give her any advice she might need.

"I’m just a call away," he said. "[I’ll] let her do her thing and if she ever needs me, I’m gonna be here for her."

In the interview with Lowe, Bieber admitted to seeing Eilish's rise to becoming "a superstar" before the age of 18 and meeting her at Coachella made him want to offer her any support she might need.

Given his sudden superstardom at age 13, he wanted to give Eilish the support he didn't have growing up in the spotlight.

"It was hard for me, being that young and being in the industry and not knowing where to turn," Bieber explained. The pop superstar added that he "just wanted to be a good example" for the younger singer.

Eilish responded to the clip by encouraging all of her social media followers to support Bieber and his new album Change. She captioned the post, "stream changes."

Included with the interview clip were several images of the pop star showing off her past as a Belieber, including a photo of herself wearing a "Justin Bieber" shirt and her childhood bedroom's walls covered a plethora of Bieber posters.

The post got responses from fans and celebrities alike, including Bieber and his wife.

Since arriving on the music scene, Eilish has been very open about her love and admiration of Bieber and his music, growing up as a young teen.

Ina February 2018 interview with Marie Claire, she mentioned that she was "in love" with the Canadian singer during her early teens. "It wasn’t like I was just a fan, man," Eilish stated. She revealed that she wouldn't want to meet Bieber because she didn't "want to cry in front of him."

A month later, she mentioned in an interview with Billboard that she once ran "a fan account" dedicated to Bieber before coming into her own famous Upon meeting her, Bieber referenced the account after following her back on Instagram, even sending her a message. "The first thing he DMed me was a screenshot of — I guess he scrolled up and saw a message I had sent in 2014," Eilish revealed.

Despite her proclamation, the rising pop star did meet the Canadian phenomenon at Coachella in April of last year. She became overwhelmed with emotion at the moment.

After their brief meeting, Bieber proved the love was mutual by sharing a photo of the two on his Instagram Story and declaring that the younger star has a "long and bright future ahead of you."

In July, the admiration led to collaboration as Bieber jumped on a remix of Eilish's Grammy-winning single, "Bad Guy," with the single cover featuring a younger Eilish posing in front of her many Bieber posters.

Eilish recently released the theme for the next Bond installment No Time To Die.
