In a since-delete Instagram post, 41-year-old actress and musician Taryn Manning aired her concerns about her former Crossroads co-star Britney Spears. Spears, who needs no introduction, has famously (or infamously) been a part of her very own, very public conservatorship battle since the late 2000s. After saying she was "worried" for her pop star friend, Manning received many scathing comments for Britney's fans, prompting her to remove the post altogether.

Manning returned to Instagram late Wednesday evening to provide some justification for her actions.

"Response to media: First off, my apologies to Britney. I had no media agenda. Never was I seeking attention, nor press via Britney," Manning said, most likely in response to the haters who criticized her using of social media to get in touch with Spears.

"The reason why I posted was that many fans of her contact me daily BEGGING me to do something. I used to not respond. Then, I started to ask for proof of these allegations they presented."

"Finally, I posted because it was eating away at me for months. What if there is something wrong? I wanted my post to be about the forgotten ones, hence the sentiment."

Taryn's heartfelt letter was attached to a photo of her alongside her two Crossroads co-stars: Zoe Saldana, and of course, Britney Spears. All three of the film's leading ladies went to find massive success in their respective areas of the business. The original post she's been referencing comes across a little disjunctive and scattered, but for contextual reasons, we'll provide it here anyway:

"Not trying to get likes I could care less. I am worried about my friend and co-star. Too many times we let one go a-stray and never bother to poke our heads around. 'Not my chair, not my problem.' Hey, least we aren't walking into a gas chamber out of left field today #love @britneyspears for all of you who hit me daily to do something. I hear you now! We care. Voice away angels this is your playground can't phase us anymore. she is my focus. loving you."

Again, we know Taryn's execution was lacking, but we love the heart behind it.

In last night's post, Taryn went on to say that she "did not expect the amount of hate" she received in response to her original statement.

"I don’t need [the hate] in my life, people can be cruel," Manning continued. "I like Britney, we had a blast at that time, and I want her happy like any decent human would want for another. The Christian in me sees the Christian in her. You are so very loved."

Although she never outright stated (in either post) what exactly it was that prompted her to make a public stand for Spears, it's likely that fans brought the #FreeBritney movement to her attention, which claims that Spears' life is almost fully controlled by a team of puppeteers - essentially, that at almost 40 years old, Britney has very little to no control over her every day goings on.
