Brad Pitt recently took home the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor following his work on Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
The film, which was nominated for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor, also stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie. It took home the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy and earned Pitt his second Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor.
And it sounds like he formed quite a bond on set with one of his co-stars.
Pitt, who played the part of stuntman Cliff Booth, formed an unlikely bond with the film's star pooch: a pitbull named Sayuri.
Sayuri's trainers Matt and Monique Klosowski told US Weekly, "“They did develop a bond, absolutely.”
Sayuri plays the part of Pitt's dog Brandy in the film. Vice named her as the best cameo in the film, stating “She brings it all — the laughs, the thrills, the action. If you don’t leave the movie immediately ready to adopt a pit bull, you watched the movie wrong. We all need a Brandy in our lives.”
In spring 2018, a phone call came to the Klosowskis, offering thousands of dollars for Sayuri and another of their pitbulls, Cerberus, to be used as a stunt dog.
The trainers drove their dogs up to Hollywood for their starring role, and didn't even find out the pups would be in a Tarantino film until they overheard someone say "Quentin" was involved in filming.
"It's driving us insane," Ms Klosowski told Yahoo last year, ahead of the film's release. "I have anxiety just thinking about going to see it. It's overwhelming.
"In the end, we really don't know more than anyone else except that she plays a very significant role in the movie with Brad Pitt and that she is in a big final end scene."

And Pitt wasn't the only cast member to receive recognition for his role in the film.
Sayuri was awarded the prestigious Palm Dog trophy at this year's Cannes Film Festival, where Tarantino accepted the award on her behalf, bringing another dog in Sayuri's place.
“I have to say, I am so honored to have this,” he said. “I want to dedicate this to my wonderful actress Brandy. She has brought the Palm Dog home to America.”
He also praised Sayuri as being "a great actress", stating her facial expressions pushed her performance to the next level.
While Sayuri and Pitt experienced a special bond, she was beloved by everyone on set.
“Everybody loved her,” said Ms. Klosowski.
“The chemistry [on set] was great, and it worked out great,” added Mr. Klosowski.
He also stated he wasn't sure if Sayuri would be returning home with them, saying "If Brad Pitt wanted the dog, she's his. I'd gladly give Brad Pitt our dog."
While Pitt didn't take Sayuri home, he did send the Klosowski's a pair of framed photographs of him and Sayuri on set after filming had finished.
