Snoop Dogg Revealed He's Been 'Working On Me' Before Apologizing To Gayle King

Snoop Dogg is getting honest with his fans amid his controversial words about "CBS This Morning" anchor Gayle King.

She became a target for Snoop when she brought up rap accusations made against Kobe Bryant in 2003 during an interview with Lisa Leslie.

"Why you all attacking us? We your people. You ain’t come after f-ckin’ Harvey Weinstein asking him dumb ass questions," Snoop said after the interview was posted online.

"How dare you try and torch my motherf-ckin homeboy’s reputation, punk motherf-cker. Respect the family and back off, b-tch, before we come get you."

A day later, Snoop doubled-down on his comments when he appeared on the "Ricky Smiley Morning Show."

"I just think that wasn't even necessary," he said. "You got Lisa Leslie, an all-star, a great player and Olympic gold medalist who actually grew with Kobe."

"So it's like it's certain people that just wasn't like that so in Lisa's mind, she feel like, 'Why you keep asking the question when the case was dismissed?'" Snoop continued.

"He wasn't even guilty. So if it was that serious, and no disrespect to the victim, but if it was that serious—if you did that to me—I'm getting on the witness stand and I'm coming forth to make sure you go do some time. Period!"

"My thing was... that was 2003. Some of his kids wasn't even born," he said. "So, when you bringing that up you bringing information to them that they don't need to know nothing about, you get what I'm saying? I'm thinking about them." He also called King's response to the backlash a "weak ass apology."

People then began rallying around King and blasting Snoop for what some called threatening comments.

On Wednesday, Snoop posted an Instagram message that read, "Who you were, who you are, and who you will be are three different people." He added, "Working on me everyday" in the caption.

An hour later, he posted a video of himself apologizing to King.

"Gayle King, I publicly tore you down by coming at you in a derogatory manner based off of emotions, me being angry at questions that you asked. Overreacted. Should have handled it way different than that. I was raised way better than that. So I would like to apologize to you publicly for the language that I used and calling you out on your name and being disrespectful," he said.

He continued: "I didn’t mean for it to be like that. I was just expressing myself for a friend that wasn’t here to defend himself. A lot of people look up to me and they love me and they appreciate me, so I want to let them know that anytime you mess up, it’s okay to fix it. It’s okay to man up and say that you’re wrong. I apologize. Hopefully, we can sit down and talk. Privately. Have a good day."
